I've gone through a lot before getting where I am right now.
I've been afraid my whole life, it started when my dad began to act irrationally and like a complete asshole.
He chose to break our family apart for his own pleasure of fucking another woman, I will never ever forgive him for that.
He abandoned my mom and I, he made her a living mess. My mom started to drink when my dad left us and became an alcoholic, then she snapped.
My mom started to abuse me, so I had to move in with my grandparents.
I lived with them until a foster family decided to adopt the depressed, lonely, mentally ill child that I was.
I was only 13 at the time and started smoking my problems away, I went on to look for jobs and nearest places to live when I was 18.
I found a pizza restaurant and a grimey alley to live in, I ran away from the family that adopted me. The family that was supposed to love me.
I feel bad for them, I was born into a life that made me reject affection.
I regret not leaving a note that night, I didn't say where I was going. I wanted to disappear and lose my identity and find myself a new one, and that's what I did.
I am beyond happy with how far I've gotten, I'm moving into my new apartment tomorrow. I'm so proud of myself.
"Bitch! Zoom out and start taking the orders!" Mika waves her hand in my face, then crosses her arms. I blink at her a couple of times before getting out of my head. "Oh my god, Mika. I'm so sorry about that... I'll get to them right now."
Mikas, my best friend and one of my coworkers. I met her here, at this restaurant. She turns around and heads back to the front desk.
"Are you okay?" Kade turns the corner into the back of the restaurant where I'm standing dumbfoundedly, leaning on the freezer.
He's my best friend as well, also my ex.
"Yeah, I'm just really happy right now!" I smile, making my cheeks hurt.
He walks closer. "Why the euphoria?"
"Im finally moving into my new apartment."
"Ooh, do you need any help moving in?" He raises his eyebrows, I get taken back from his words. Looking at him with a dead stare.
"Were you diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease Kade?"
"Oh.. I forgot about that, sorry." He looks at me in worry.
"Don't apologize, it's fine. But you can accompany me if that's what you actually meant." He smirks at the thought.
"Okay, I'll be there!"
He acts differently now that we've broken up, which is expected of course. It's always still a little awkward between you and your ex after you break up.
He's more sensitive to my feelings now, like he doesn't want to hurt me.
"Perfect, I'll send you the address tonight." I say as Mika turns the corner again.
"Are you guys chillin back here without me? That's fucked up." Mika rolls her eyes dramatically.
"Well we thought three was a crowd." Kade says, nudging her shoulder.
"You were already invited dumbass, we were just talking about me moving."
"Oh hell yeah! You're finally getting out of that disgusting cold alley, I'm so happy for you."
