Laya took on her hood again, and looked at the little girl standing next to her. The girl stared at her, with tears running down her cheeks.
"He deserved it." Was the only thing Laya said before walking away from there.
She woke up when her door slammed open. Hadeon went in with big steps. She sat up in her bed, without caring that her night dress was revealing.
"What do you want?" Laya said sharply.
All the blood had been washed off her body, the only thing that made her sure that last night hadn't been a dream was the memory of Sam's face when he had seen who she was.
Hadeon closed the door, he was clearly embarrassed by her clothing.
"Do you know who the murderer is?" He blurted out.
Her heart rate rose but she kept her face blank.
"Excuse me?" She said, sounding surprised.
"Did he give you a mission to kill that guy?"
"Did you come here for something important? Or are you just gonna ask pointless questions?" Laya said with a sharp voice.
"Laya, have you?" He said loudly.
"No, I have not!" She said angrily, "and get the hell out of my room!"
Hadeon started laughing a cold laugh.
"You don't get it, do you?" He said with a dangerously low voice. "There's a murder somewhere arund us. He has been killing people every night for more than one month. And no one knows who he is gonna attack next and why!"
"I know, and I'm terrified of what is happening here!" Laya lied.
She managed to keep her face serious. Hadeon didn't say another word, just turned around and closed the door loudly behind him.
Laya let out a growl and hitted her pillow.
Laya sat in the castle's dining room. There were more than a hundred people in the room eating breakfast. She sat on the small chair with the big wooden table in front of her filled with more food than she could count. She had a piece of bread on her plate, eating while listening to what the other said. Everyone was tensed today, talking about the murder that happend last night.
"No one can trust anyone, not when someone in here is a murderer." A woman close to her said.
Everyone got quiet when the king and a dussin of soldiers came in throw the giant wooden door. The king went up on the podium, looking down at everyone else with a deadly calm. Laya wanted to run away, he was the most frightening man she had ever seen, with his black short hair and his golden armor on. He had a sword at his side, that she knew had taken many lives.
"I know all of you have heard the tragic news about how my brother Sam died last night." Layas' heart started pounding even harder when she heard that she had killed the king's brother. The king kept talking. "But don't worry, we will find The Killer. There will be a contest to see who the greatest warrior is. And the winner will track down The Killer and kill him once for all. And of course the winner will get paid."
The only sound in the massive dining room was the king's footsteps. The guards followed him and then he was gone just as fast as he had comed. Laya swallowed hard.
Everything went as she had wished, but the closer her goal she got the more nervous she got. She turned quickly around when she felt someone staring at her, and stared back at the little girl that had seen her kill Sam.
"Excuse me." Laya said when she got up from her seat.
She went with big steps toward the little girl. Her hair was a mess, and her eyes were wide with panic. She was already on her feet when Laya got to her. Without a word she followed Laya out of the massive room and into a dark corridor.
"Listen closely cause I'm only gonna say this once, I saved your life and you are never gonna talk about what happened last night." Laya said.
"I just have one question, when did you learn to do that?" The girl asked.
Laya sigheded.
"Let's just say I have a favor to repay." With that Laya went back and ate.
