"How did you dye your hair so good?"

Luz broke the silence suddenly. The two girls sat in the library, side by side, rereading a Good Witch Azura book (specifically the one about Azura and Hecate's relationship. They were both pretty big Azurate shippers). Amity looked up from the book, a confused look on her face, "Huh?"

"Well, I mean, your hair is naturally brown, right? How do you get it to be so light?" A pause. "Hah, that rhymes," Luz's eyes drifted to the other's hair—now a short bob with an undercut. Instead of its usual green, it was dyed lilac purple, a clear rebellion against her mother's controlling nature. Sure, Luz was surprised when she first saw it, but she thought it fit her perfectly.

Amity absent-mindedly twirled a strand of hair between her fingers, "Hair dye. Why?"

"But don't you have to do some stuff to your hair before? Every time I tried to dye mine, it would never show up," Luz paused. "Oh, wait. This is probably some magic stuff, isn't it?"

She smiled, "Yeah, probably. The human realm sounds so much more complicated without magic..." she trailed off, before quickly adding onto the thought. "Not that it's bad! It sounds interesting."

"Definitely complicated. Though, we've only got boring ol' humans there, so not as cool as the demon realm. At least we have giraffes!" The two shared a laugh.

"How do you guys dye hair?" Amity asked.

Luz hummed, "Well, I don't know how it works exactly, but I'm pretty sure you have to bleach it to make it lighter. If you dye it without bleaching, then you can't see the color very well. Hence why mine is still brown. I've always wanted to get it dyed but...eh, too much work for me. But if I could, I'd definitely get purple too."

"Purple suits you."

"It suits you too."

Here comes the awkward blushing. Compliments always made both of them a flustered mess.

Just before they continued to read again, Amity spoke up. "You know, if you wanted to...I could help. Er—Emira and I can help. She's the one who usually does my hair."

"Really? You'd do that?"

Glancing down bashfully, she rubbed her hands together in a nervous expression, "Of course. Anything for you."

Butterflies erupted from Luz's stomach, sending yet another burst of heat across her cheeks, "Then, I guess, it's a date..?"

"Yeah. Guess so."

Oh, they'd never get over the whole 'dating' thing. It would forever make them want to squeal in happiness.
