hi i haven't updated this in a while lol. i've been wanting to write more, especially with season 2, but aaaa i'm extremely hyperfixated on infinity train i just can't write anything besides that </3 at least i wrote this, even though it's really short ??
..and yes i just realized the title for this sounds the same as the title for the last one. dammit

spoilers for season 2, episode 5: through the looking glass ruins!!! please watch the episode it's really good i promise!!!!

That day, Luz arrived at the owl house dazed and confused. She kept thinking about the conversation she had with Amity outside the library, then the one outside her house, then...

Oh, man. This was a crush. A big one. And maybe possibly very likely almost definitely requited? Wow. That's new.

She certainly had crushes before—cool actors (who, sadly, she'd never end up with), classmates (who she absolutely failed at impressing), fictional characters (who didn't even exist)—but it was never this much. Who would've thunk, Luz Noceda, actually having a chance with a girl?

Actually having a chance. That was strange to think about. Luz had never had someone kiss her before (okay, it wasn't a kiss. It was just a little peck on the cheek. It wasn't that special). Did this mean something? Maybe witches had different forms of showing platonic affection. But kissing someone's cheek, turning red, then immediately running away doesn't sound very platonic. Unless..?

Ugh, she was a mess. She should've said something when she had the chance, instead of just watching Amity rush away muttering "why did I do that?" under her breath.

This was starting to sound like a much gayer version of all those fanfictions she read, wasn't it? A person yearning after the other after a probably-not-platonic situation. But this was real life. She was supposed to act real and mature about this.

So what would a mature person do about a huge fat crush?

Nada funcionará a menos que lo haga funcionar.

She just had to figure out a way to make it work.

...that's a lot easier said than done.
