The Hunger Games, a game where they put 24 people in an arena and only one comes out alive. It sounds awful doesn't it?

It would make my awful life ten times worse if I got reaped.

I have cancer, which caused me to go blind in my right eye and the doctors told me I would soon lose sight in my left.

It's not like I wouldn't try in the hunger games, I would, it's just that if it came down to me and someone I liked I would probably let them go home instead of me.

It seams like an awful life doesn't it? Well it's bad but I have a family and my best friend Lily who I would do anything for.

I sign in then got to my age section where I find Lily waiting for me, I rush over to her and hug her, she looks nervous. I look around and see that everyone else in the 14 year old section has the same facial expression.

After a couple minutes of waiting are escort Levis comes out.

"Welcome to the 150 hunger games, as usual ladies first" Levis says she walks to the girls name bowl and pulls one out and says the name.

"Lily Stone" she yells, no not Lily it can't be Lily, I have to do something.

I look at Lily who is now making her way up the path to the stage.

I have to do this I think in my mind before I yell "I volunteer as tribute."

Lily turns to me and screams "NO REECE DONT DO THIS, PLEASE NO YOU CANT"

Levis looks at me and says "very nice, come up here dear"

As I walk by Lily I nod my head she just looks at me sadly. I try to look confident for when the other tributes watch this.

When I reach the stage Levis says "now for the men"

"Mario Vince" I see a man walk up from the 51 year old section, I can't tell how he is feeling, his facial expression in blank.

"Very good now shake hands you two" I turn to Mario and shake his hand.
I then get pulled into a room to say goodbye to family and friends.

My mom, dad and sister walk in first. My mom cries into my dads shirt and says "why Reece, why did you do that" "because I had to I could let her go into the games, I couldn't watch her die." I say to her. My mother hugs me and says goodbye then leaves my dad the kisses me on the forehead and say "I love you" then walks off to comfort my mom.

It's just me and my sister in the room now "come home" she says then gives me a long hug "I'll try" I say back.

Once everyone is gone Lily comes bursting into the room with tears streaming down her eyes, I run over to her and just as she is about to say something I hug her and tell her not to worry about me, she says "that's not going to happen I will worry about you every second of every day until you come home." But I might not co..." She stops me there and tells me "you are coming home"

We hug one last time then a guard comes and pulls her out of the room. He then comes back a guides me to the train.
