"Hello Ms Mee"
"Hello Mr Jed. Is there a reason you pulled me out of class?"
"Well I would hope so. Your father came to the school and told me he wanted to take you out of school today for 'personal reasons'. I don't know why though. We better get going."
"Thanks" I said
I walked to the front office wondering what my dad could possibly want from me on one of the last days of school. Thoughts swarmed around in my head. What if my grandpa had died or mom or Rosie or Dylan. What if there was an accident? Or dad did something stupid and needed to tell someone or get someone involved. What if dads in trouble
No no no stop it Val. I shoved the thoughts farther down in my head. I can't think like that. There was silence while me and the principal walked to the office to meet my dad. Suddenly Mr Jed spoke.
"Look Valarie I want you to know that if you ever need to talk I am here. I know this past year has been chalanging for you and it seems to have taken a toll on you. I don't want anything bad to happen to you. How have you been doing recently?"
"Look I appreciate the thought but I'm fine. Always am fine. Yeah the last year sucked but I'm used to it. I've never been the happiest kid but I've delt with it in my own ways. No need to worry about me." I say in a not so believable way while patting his shoulder. "Thanks for the escort to my dad but we're here and I'm good to go. Have a good day sir" I said as I solute him and skip to my dad.
"Hey dad why are you here"
"We will talk about it at home." He said waving goodbye to the secretary at the front desk. And nodding to the principal.
"Uh ok" I mumbled
We walked to the car and got in. I tried a couple more times to ask him what was happening but he stayed quiet the whole way.
Once we arrived at home I got out and followed him inside. He told me to go to the dining room where my mom and siblings were.
"Hey guys what's up?" I said as I put my bag down on a chair and sat down on another.
"Hey honey" my mom said and plased a kiss on my forehead.
"So dad what is it you took us all out of school for?" Dylan said with a tone.
"Look I'm just going to cut to the chase... Me and your mother... we bought a new house..."
"About time" I said while rolling my eyes
"Here is the brochure" he said handing it to Dylan first.
"Your freaking kidding me... it's a zoo!?"
"Well yeah. Look these animals need somebody to rescue them."
"The animals need to be rescued- dad my friends are here. Our life is here!" Dylan said standing up angrily.
"WOAH, Man you got expelled alright what am I gonna do. Homeschool you?"
"No"
"Right. So what did we talk about. A new place. A new start"
"This is what you want not what I want"
"What?"
Dylan scoffed "it's a zoo I'm moving to a zoo." He said and walked out of the room
"WE BOUGHT A ZOO!" Rosie screamed happily
"Yes we did. We did buy a zoo. Give me some fork" they clanked forks.
I scoffed and walked to my room while saying "That went well" sarcastically.
I am going to live at a zoo. Holy shit. Holy shit. Holy shit.
I'm going to try to update every day but I am starting school soon. Freshman year. So it might be harder.
