Hua Cheng not-so-subtly snaked his arms around his husband's waist pulling the shorter man closer to himself. Xie Lian's face was a bright shade of red, partly from the undisguised flirting he was being subjected to and partly because the two were currently in the great martial hall and were receiving weird, disgusted stares from the other gods. Mu Qing and Feng Xin made it a point to pretend they weren't there, and Ling Wen was too tired to care.

Usually, a ghost would never be welcome in the heavenly realm, but after Jun Wu aka Bai Wuxiang's defeat Hua heng had played a considerable feat in the rebuilding process, both financially and spiritually and the heaven's owed him a great debt. Xie Lian had been asked to assume the role of the new Martial Emperor but he had politely declined it, only agreeing to help out when required.

He wasn't a big fan of the heavens. Xie Lian was the sole reason he had bothered to show his face. Currently, he was dead set on making his husband flustered, not that it was a difficult task.

His arm slid down from his waist to his butt and pinched it slightly. Xie Lian had to use all his self-control to not let out an undignified yelp.

"San Lang!", he chided through their private communication array.

"What is it gege?"  Hua Cheng asked with an innocent smile.

"Y-You Why Di-you-". Hua Cheng smirked and said, "This one is extremely bored, won't His Highness entertain him?"

Behind him, Mu Qing groaned, and Ling Wen let out a cough."Dianxia is advised to use the private array for such matters"

oops. he had connected to the group array. Xie Lian turned around and buried his face in his Husband's chest.

Before any other comments were made, Ling Wen decided to quickly announce the reason for the being called for a meeting. Xie Lian had been informed beforehand as he was the strongest martial god capable of dealing with any anomalies that could arise.

Some of Jun Wu's swords had been recovered and a decision had to be made on what would be done with them. Fang Xin was possessed by Xie Lian but of the rest, some had been lost or buried away in the chaos.

Although a long time had passed since his death, Xie Lian still had nightmares. Some nights he would wake up screaming. Hua Cheng always held him through it. So when he was asked to come to today's meeting he had been reluctant to go alone. Hua Cheng, of course, gladly accompanied him.

The names of most of the swords were unknown even to Ling Wen, five in total. One of these swords harbored resentful energy. It was probable that spirits had been sealed in it. it was passed on to Xie Lian.

"It is probable that the spirits are the souls of people Bai Wuxiang has slaughtered. They don't seem to be powerful.", he held it up for Hua Cheng to see.

"Mmh. gege is right of course.", he said. " It won't be necessary to disperse them."

"In that case, this sword will be given to a martial god. " Ling Wen stared at him and Xie Lian shook his head.

"Then to whom should it be trusted?", a minor official commented

'Why, General Nan Yang Zhen Jun hall of course."

"Pfft- General Xuan Zhen is stronger"

"Did you just call me weak!?"

"Shut Up Ju Yang"

"YOU-"

Xie Lian could already feel his head throbbing.

"Calm down you too..."
