"Have you heard of the Mafia?'' James' voice echoed through his huge office.
"I mean i've read wattpad stories about it- i mean"
"wattpad? What's wattpad?" my eyes widened in realization "nothing. Absolutely nothing"
"okay, so um, alright here i go, well i-" "oh my fucking god, your taking too long. Your father is one of the most powerful leaders in the Mafia industries" what.
I blink a few times trying to collect my thoughts together. "Your joking right, because ha ha ha very funny" they both stay silent and look over the office "Oh shit" i whisper.
A smile comes onto my face "NO WAY, OH MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING" James and Arianna look at each other before looking at me. "Not the reaction I was expecting, but okay..." James said
"I've read so many books about the Mafia, no wonder you're rich as hell" I say "Grey, are you not surprised" James tries to clarify with me "oh, no I am surprised! but this is amazing. I can't believe I didn't see it sooner. Everything makes sense now. The tattoos, the cars, the whole house."
"well that was a lot easier than I thought"
——-Days went on, i'm still trying to fit in, but sadly I still do feel like the odd one out. The outsider.
Every Time it's Dinner it's the most awkward thing. Oh yeah and something I found out, is that James broke off his engagement with Tess, or was it Jess? whatever her name was. And he did it for me.
We've spent a lot of days together. Father and daughter. It was almost midnight and we were sitting on James' balcony talking about his tattoos.
"Whyd you get so many though?" I chuckled as I took a spoonful of ice cream. "Have you heard the saying, 'once you get one tattoo you can't stop' well that was me." He laughed back.
"Do you want a tattoo? Or ever wanted one?" He says softly I have a little giggle thinking about the old memory. "Yeah, but mom didn't like the idea of it" I let out another giggle. "Mom said 'if I ever see a tattoo on you. Whether I'm dead or alive I'll come and pull your ear' " I finish laughing. So does he.
"Why don't you have a tattoo there?" I point to his left shoulder. "Oh? Well. The truth is." He took a deep breath and looked like he was collecting these thoughts. "I saved this spot for your mother. A little part of me, always told me she'd back me. Back into my life. I saved that spot for her. Any tattoo she wanted me to get. Without hesitation I'd get it" he said.
A little voice keeps telling me, he's faking all of this kind act. He's faking this father act.
As much as I hate saying it, and thinking about it I just do. I feel extremely bad for thinking that but it's the truth. "Why don't you come up with a tattoo idea. I'll get it done" from my ice cream I looked up and met his Grey eyes which I lowkey wished I had.
"Mr. James I can't" I say "your my daughter. My blood. Please" he says, taking a spoonful of ice cream and eating it. My mindset is thinking terrible and messed up shit. But I have to know if he's willing to do anything for me.
"Any tattoo?" I whispered "any". This is my chance to test him. The tattoo I have in mind is stupid I know but I just want to know if hes willing to get it done without hesitation.
"My name" I say "done" he says without hesitation. He does care. "Oh, I was just-" "done. Easy I'll call my tattoo guy tomorrow, you can pick the font too" James said getting up. "Well it's getting late you should get to bed" James said "yeah, totally" I got up and walked out.
Guilt took over.
I woke up to someone knocking on my door too many times in a row. "I'm getting impatient," Romeo complained on the other side of the door. I rolled my eyes and opened the door. We stood there for exactly 6 seconds before Romeo said "are you going to say something?" I stay silent and raise an eyebrow.
"Is it about when I called you weird? Alright okay? Sorry? I guess" I still stay quiet. "Okay? You're freaking me out." I tilt my head to the right side just a tad bit. "Dude stop. Seriously your fucking scaring me... Your dad wants to see you!" He said running away. I let out a little giggle and made my way inside to get ready for today.
Her outfit (you can of course totally imagine your own outfit!)
"You're finally here!" I hear James yell as I walk down the stairs "yeah?" I say quietly "come here" he said.
I take a seat next to him. I see he pulled out a list, then looks back at me. I raise my eyebrow at him. "The list I'm holding has things you've always wanted from the ages 12 to 17"
"Mr. James" I say shocked. I'm not going to lie, the things I've wanted are expensive things. I was a bit selfish. Lies. I was so fucking selfish!!
"Please it's the least I could do for you" he says, reinserting me.
"The age of 12 you wanted a bubble gun Machine, that blows thousands of bubbles at once. Age 13 you wanted the latest popular makeup kit during that time . But I got you the most popular today's time" He smiled out. "Age 14 you wanted the latest iPhone during that time. Age 15 you wanted the latest MacBook" I looked down at my lap.
Feeling regret. "Age 16 you wanted a golden retriever puppy" I gave a little chuckle on that "age 17 you wanted" he took a deep breath "your mom to be better"
i look up at him. "Unfortunately I can't bring her back but I can totally buy everything else!"
He said trying to get me happy "Mr.James please don't. I really don't need you spreading money on me." He sighs
"can you return a puppy?" James said.
