"Munchie"

"Incoming Facetime Call from My Mell red heart emoji" I heard siri announce through my headphones startling me.

The phone stopped ringing by the time I was fully awake. I checked the time and it was 3:02 in the morning.

I called him back because maybe it was an emergency. He picked up right away

"Mell ?"

"Munchie they shot him" he said lowly

His phone was sitting on something facing the sky so I knew he was still outside

"shot who"

"t-they shot my cousin man" He say slurring over his words. He never drunk on the regular so I knew he had to be going through it

"ok Mell where are you at"

"where I LIVE?! you the cops??" he said

"No where.are.you.at.right.now." I said slowly for him

"oh I dont know bae. I think I'm on sesame street" he said laughing

I tried not to laugh because this was serious

"ah my head hurt" the camera started moving so I knew he was standing up

"No Mell sit back down"

"u not my mom but okayyy" he dragged

"ok imma stay on the phone with you. send your location to me ok"

"ok?"

"yea yea yea" he went on pause so I know he was doing it

I just threw some shoes in still in my pajamas and ordered an uber to the location he sent

"I'm on my way ok"

"ohkkkaaayyyy"

I laughed making my way downstairs quietly trying not to wake anyone up.

20 minutes later

The cab stopped and I saw Mell sitting on the steps of some building. I told the uber I was taking another trip back and got out to go to him.

I walked to him and he had his head down in his lap

poor baby

I bent down and picked his head up cuffing his head in my hands.

"Mell" he looked up and his eyes were bloodshot red

"hmmm"

"Its time to go now" I said helping him up

"my head hurt"
