Riley's Pov
So today me, Maxi and Jethro, my fun uncles, or as my "lovely" father likes to affectionately call them Nitwits, he occasionally will goof off with them, but he also knows that they fuel my antics sometimes...most of the time.
Let's rewind to a couple days ago....I was watching pranks on youtube, and conjuring up some ideas, the boys and me were at a bar, having a "little no one drowned this month" celebration, expect I am not drinking, I mean of course I tried to and got my hand smacked, "we are at a bar " is code for "stay by my Dad's or Uncle Boo's side, or else."
Anyway my Dad saw me watching an alcohol poison prank on my parents (yes, these pranks exist) and needless to say he didn't like it, and warned me if I attempted any of those pranks I would be in big trouble. Of course me being me, dared him to, unfortunately because of my lovely back talk I ended up being grounded for the weekend. Now if you think I am going to make it seem like I am kidnapped or poisoned or something, I am not. That would be cruel and not fun. I have another thing brewing under the pot...
(Back to present)
So in conclusion, him saying he didn't like them, gave me an idea and with me having a week off of work to work on school. I was going to be hanging out with Jethro and Maxi a-lot, because they conveniently also have a week off at the same time. I know I should be focusing on school work but I really want to be a little sneaky, just a tiny bit.
Now I am pretty good friends with the bra boys, and I am in need of surfing, so staying with Maxi and Jethro for a couple days would be a perfect excuse to disappear for a couple days. If I pull this off, I could be back in Sydney by next Tuesday, it's Friday btw and I am meant to be staying at MaxI's and Jethro's for the weekend and a little bit of Monday. Jehtro and Maxi being the responsible adults they are, have a party to go too, meaning they will be hungover on Sunday.
I already know that Matty Dee has traveled up to visit his family, not far from where the Bra Boys are or more specifically where Koby lives. I think they know each other somehow, at least I assume they know each other, so I have to be careful. I also need to try to hang out with the newer Bra boys that don't know my Dad, I know the more senior members know my Dad, so there is know way this could go wrong right?
Well, knowing me as well as you know me, you should know most things don't go the way I want them to. If I somehow get away with this, I will feel guilty enough to admit it myself. It's sorta funny I can white lie with no guilt whatsoever, but the minute something serious happens that I attempt to cover up I feel like the world is crushing my world with guilt if I don't tell my parents.
So how to get to the beach.....aka what I like to call Koby's territory, I can bike there but I can't bring my surfboard up, so that means I am going to have to rent one or manage to convince the newer Bra boys to let me use theirs for a day, yeah.. I might just rent one.
If I do plan to stay up there for one and half day, I better rent a hotel room, because knowing my luck I will get a drunk breaking into my room if I stay in a cheap motel, plus I have higher standards than that, but pitching a tent on the beach sounds tempting..and free so, yeah I am gonna stick with the hotel room idea. I mean I am making my own money now and have a bankcard, but my Dad would only check that if he needed a reason, like if his daughter was missing for basically two days. I think I covered everything, I can just bring up some microwave meals and drinks, when I said I have higher standards I meant with my living quarters not what I eat, provided it's not raw or poisoned.
Now I just gotta get through the next day up until Maxi and Jehtro leave for their "Bros Night" as they called it, aka "time for us to get drunk at a party oh and don't tell your Dad, Boo or our Boss." I know what you're thinking, they are smart enough to be lifeguards? Surprisingly yes, they have proved they are fantastic lifeguards, but keep in mind one of them joined the service when he was 15 and one got locked in the lifeguard tower.
