| Had to give in, couldn't give up

nessa's pov

"i'm going to break up with him, right now." i say, unbuckling my seat belt. i was in jaden's car and he just drove me to sway so i can break up with josh. i breathed out, fidgeting with my hands, my anxiety was kicking in.

"i'll believe it when i see it." jaden shortly glances at me, then immediately looking away.
i smile a little, "when you do it i'll end it with mads, it's up to you."

"okay okay." i got out of his car, i closed the door and he rolled the window down. "wish me luck?" i raise my eyebrows.

jaden slightly chuckled, "do you really need it though?" he questioned, i gave him a glare causing him to laugh some more. "good luck."

i nod, i took deep breaths before entering the sway house. bryce told me josh was up in his room, i quickly jogged upstairs and on his bed i sat next to him. "josh." i say monotonously, he doesn't respond until i called his name for a 5th time. "sorry this is really interesting." he laughs, he sets his phone down then looks at me.

i needed to do this i hated being with him and it seems as if he doesn't care about me. josh hardly remembers i exist until i come to him first. he'd do me no good. "i'm going to be completely straight forward." i paused, that sentence really caught his attention.

"we're breaking up." i say, josh stared at me for a few seconds then burst into laughter, "okay if you don't care then." i scoffed, grabbing my jacket.

josh grabs my arm, "i didn't know you were serious." his eyes go wide, now his cares after all this time. "please baby, i love you." i see his eyes starting to flood.

i roll my eyes, snatching my arm away from me. "don't act like you care, you never paid attention to my presence and now you are acting like i'm the love of your life." he went silent, looking down at his hands. "we're done."

i wore my jacket, rushing out of the sway house. i wasn't leaving so fast because i was crying, i left that fast because i am relieved and wanted to leave that house as soon as i can.

i entered jaden's car with a big smile, my smile quickly turned into a frown when i noticed he was texting mads. i glanced at his lips to see a smile on his face. i cleared my throat, "i broke up with josh." i say, forcing a smile.

i don't know why that caused a mood switch but i know that annoyed the hell out of me.
"really?" he raised his eyebrows, turning off his phone. i nodded, "that's great."

"so..you're going to end it with mads or are you actually happy with her now because i saw that smile on your face while texting her." i say, and my tone came off as jealousy which was not my intention. jaden's head snapped to face me so fast.

a smirk formed on his lips, "jealous now are we?" jaden leaned his face close to mine. my eyes kept flickering down to his lips and i know he noticed. he inched his face even close, our lips almost touched but he pulled back right before it did. i let a breath out, why did i want that kiss to happen?

"i'm just messing with you." he chuckled, "and no—i was only smiling at mads and i's text because she was talking about how much she loved my music." jaden shortly explained, "and yours."

i turn to him, "she still listens to my music?" he nods. "oh, i thought she hated me after that whole late drive shit."

"she could never hate you." jaden starts the engine of his car, "unless you got with me." he turns to face me while smirking.

my face got a little red, i looked away as i softly pushed jaden face. "i would never get with you." i say, "we're just friends."

"yeah i know, i was just teasing." i noticed jaden's smile drops. "just friends."

"yeah." i breathed out, playing with my fingers.

jaden's pov

"we have arrived at mads house." i say, nessa's face lit up. it made me smile, seeing her happy.

"yuhh. i missed my best friend." nessa said as she got out of the car, i furrowed my brows.

"hold up, you can't be up in her apartment while i'm breaking up with her, that would be awkward and she'll think it has to do with you." i explained, nessa rolled her eyes as she sat back down in my car. "exactly." i grin.

"you'll see her after i'm done, when yall are having girl talk about me breaking up with her." i winked at her, i saw her face get slightly red and she immediately covered her face with her phone. i didn't say anything though.

as i said before, i couldn't take my attraction to her into action and i don't have actual feelings for nessa.

we're kinda like those best friends who are strictly just friends but they tease one another time to time. not flirting, but teasing.

i got out of the car, taking deep breaths. i'm not scared of breaking up with her. it's more of the fact that i'm letting go of a relationship of one and a half years. although, i'm glad it came to this point. i couldn't stand another year and a half with her. rude, but it's the truth.

i knock on her door and she immediately opens up, mads smile gets bigger—she wraps her arms around me, "i missed you, even if i saw you like yesterday." she says, i slightly laugh.

we go into her room, but i don't lay on the bed with her. i'm sitting on the bed trying to figure out a way to break the news to her. "jaden..you okay?" the dirty blonde asked, i nod.

"look mads, we are very toxic—" she cut me off.

"jaden don't." she sits next to me holding my arm. i sigh and continue.

"we hurt each other way to much, it's not healthy to be in a relationship i'm not happy in..so i'm breaking up with you." i say, i looked directly into her eyes. she was crying.

i didn't say anything, i just got up and left. "how'd it go?" nessa asked once i stepped into the drivers seat.

"great me for, not for her. she's in tears and i feel so bad." i shortly explain to the girl.

"well." nessa shrugged, "at least we are out of our toxic relationships." she smiles, i smile with her. it was hard not too, her smile is contagious.

kind of scary how attracted i'm to her.
