nothing can compare to my love for music. it's an escape from reality but also facing reality.
my lyrics have a deep meaning to them, regarding my problems and relationships.

it's facing reality in a way to express myself, how i feel, how i used to feel; how i react; how i want to feel.

but escaping reality in way of saying i can express myself without putting it up front; saying it without really saying it.

i love it so much, it really does help like therapy would help some people—and music is really my therapy.

i hear the door open and shut, i turned around and it was jaden entering the studio room.

"teasing your new single?" jaden smiles, "just saw your post."

i nod, "yeah. i'm very excited." i say, my eyes wandering all over his body. i wished i hadn't been observing the boy because now i see—not one but four hickeys on his neck.

obviously from mads. i've always loved their relationship—they're toxic—but i love them. but this certain thing made me feel a sting in my chest.

i don't exactly know what that sting was supposed to mean, but i know it had to do with jaden's hickeys. what i know for sure is it isn't jealousy.

it couldn't be jealousy because i don't have feelings for jaden. he's just a friend, plus i would never do that to mads.

i love mads, she's stuck with me through every little thing. she was my bestfriend, ride or die.
i appreciate mads everyday for sticking with me. "i'm excited for you, ness." jaden says.

the way he said my nickname made my heart jump. never knew someone saying something a certain way can be attractive. never knew i would one day say something jaden did was attractive.

but let's not lie, jaden is very obviously attractive. there's no denying. but i wouldn't say that out loud in respect of mads.

i would never want mads to worry thinking her best friend would steal her boyfriend—not that i would ever want to steal jaden.

jaden took a seat next to me on the couch. we sat there in silence, but it was a comfortable silence. sometimes it's nice just sitting now and catching the moment.

it isn't mandatory to say something all the time. i love the way jaden and i could go from talking about random shit to sitting in silence, smiling down at our hands while in the studio.

maybe there would be soft music playing in the background as we sat down on the couch, breathing like any other human does. loving every second of the silence. "let's go on a drive." jaden spoke up.

my head snapped to his direction, "what? it's late."

"exactly. a late at night drive. those are the best." jaden smiles, he stood up while i still sat down. he put his hand out, indicating i should take it.

i took it and he led me out to his car, opening the door to the passenger seat for me then closing it, rounding the car to step in to the drivers seat. "so where are we going?" i ask, while i put my seat belt on.

jaden grins at me, not responding but continues to start the engine and drive.

i laugh at the no response for my question, there was no real destination.

just a late night drive.

jaden's pov

i connect my phone to the car to play my playlist. it was full of r&b slow & soft music.

it was perfect for the drive. i look at nessa as she was softly bopping her head to the music, her lips singing to the lyrics as she looked out the window.

it started raining which was better. the vibes of the drive with the music fit perfectly. no one said a word to each other, just enjoying the moment. loving every second of it.

then later on we started to sing along, our eyes connected the whole time as we sang to the lyrics of a r&b love song.

i always thought nessa was attractive but the way she would flip her hair when she's enjoying the song a little too much.

grin at me and telling me to sing along with her.

point at me whenever the word 'you' is sang in the song.

it hit so different, and it's making me worried how attracted i am to her right now.

she's my girlfriend's bestfriend and my bestfriend's girlfriend. being attracted to her can go all sorts of wrong.

but it wouldn't matter as long as i don't take my attraction into action. and that would be easy for me since i don't have actual feelings for nessa.

we're just friends.
