Sidharth's P.O.V.

I followed Shehnaaz to Rahul's room and looked at her sleeping with Rahul cuddled up. Sitting on the sofa, opposite the bed, I raised my feet and rested them on the table. I understand that Shehnaaz's anger is justified. She deserves to be angry with me. My worry also came across too harsh and egoistic. This is one reason why I never fancied this profession. We have to end up hurting ourselves and the ones closest to us. Looking at them, my eyes began to close and I soon slept away. The next morning, I woke up with a striking pain on my neck because of the position I slept in last night. I got up and looked at the time. It was only half five and Shehnaaz was still asleep. I went back to my room and got ready. I have to find out at the earliest who was it last night. Leaving the house, I called Daksh and told him to meet me directly in the office. Both of us sat in the empty office and thought, analysed and talked about whatever happened last night. "What do you think? Who could this be?" I asked. He frowned at me and was hesitant in giving his answer. Understanding whose name he wanted to take, I said, "Even I am beginning to think so." He looked at me surprised. "Last night, I saw him coming out of the pool house. When I went inside, only after this, the lights went out. Something is connected here. Normally, once the light goes, the generator is started at once. But that didn't happen," I said. He nodded and said, "I think we should check those cameras as well." "Bring it," I said and he only pushed his hand inside his pocket and took out the chip. "You really know what you have to do, don't you," I said impressed. I inserted it in my laptop and connected it to the TV I had in the office. Looking and controlling from my laptop, we looked but found nothing. I sighed. "Is the generator not working?" I asked. "No sir, the generator is working. This is surprising," he said. The sun began to rise and we were only going back and forth with the footage to find something that could help us. I leaned back on my chair and rubbed behind my aching neck.

"Here you go, sir," Daksh said stretching his fist towards me. As he opened it, I saw a small balm and smiled. "Thank you," I said and applied some on my neck. After a few more mintues, the pain was much bearable and we continued until his phone rang. Looking at me, he said with a frown, "Daniel." I nodded and he answered asking right away, "Daniel, did you find out?" He looked at me and kept nodding. "Ok, we will check you now," he said and hung up. "Sid, Daniel said that he wanted to tell you personally. He thinks that someone is keeping an eye on him," he said. I sighed and said, "Has to be someone together with the shooter from last night. They must have followed you." Shaking his head, he said, "No sir, that can't be." "Why?" I asked. "I used a disguise," he said. This confused me more. "Who can it be then?" I asked. "I think we should meet Daniel at the soonest before someone tries to quiet him," he said. I nodded taking my phone and standing up. "Let's go," I said. His phone beeped and he showed me the map with the meeting location. We drove there and reached the road side cafe. Daniel was sitting in the farthest corner with a cap and hoodie covering most of his face. We went and took a seat by the table and he gave the bullet in a small, clear packet saying, "This bullet is from your group itself." I looked at Daksh shocked. "This means that it's someone in our group or hiding within our group," I said. "One more thing," Daniel said, "The gun which shot this bullet is one in only three in the world. This bullet is slightly burnt and the only gun capable of doing that is one." "Who in our group has this gun?" Daksh asked. "Jai Shukla," he said. I was dumbfounded. "Dad?" I asked. He nodded. "I said this after much research," he said. While driving home, Daniel's words kept replaying in my head. "How is this possible? Could someone have stolen Dad's gun?" I asked. "Sid, as much as I know, your father never leaves that gun," Daksh said. "You knew about this gun from before?" I asked. "No, but he always keep it with him. Even when sleeping. So, I am guessing that it is the same one," he said.

"I have to speak with Dad when I get home," I said. "Are you suspecting him?" He asked. "Of course not. I know that it wasn't him. He has no reason to kill or scare Shehnaaz," I said. "Yeah you're right. I am just too confused," he said. "We have to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible. I can't keep Shehnaaz in the open danger for too long like this," I said reaching inside the yard. I drove to the roundabout and got out. "Call back Daniel and tell him to double check. If he finds anything, let me know," I said entering the house. "Sid, where were you? You left so early without even informing anyone," Mom said coming to me. Looking at her all dressed up, I asked,  "Are you going somewhere?" Smiling, she said, "I am going to meet Aditi in the hospital." My heartbeat fasten as I asked with excitement, "Has she wake up from the coma?" "No, but her mother just called me and said that she is showing signs of recovery," she said. This was the one good thing that I heard so far for the day and it just took away the stress from me. Even if it is for a short moment. I was feeling so guilt about Aditi and this news have seemed to lighten my burden. "Why don't you come along with me?" She asked. "No Mom. I just came for something and I am going back to the office," I said and my eyes fell on Shehnaaz looking at me with a frown. Mom cupped my face, smiled and left. Shehnaaz gave a cold look and went inside the kitchen with Oscar following her. "Are you two still fighting?" Daksh asked. "If she thinks that I am going to sweet talk her and cajole her, then she's mistaken. I am not going to talk to her," I said going up the stairs. "Then, what was all that last night?" He asked following me. "I needed to be with her last night so I was. But her ego is so big that she refused to sleep with me in our room. Instead, she went to Rahul's room and slept with him," I said going into my room and to my desk. I looked through some papers to find what I wanted as Daksh waited behind me. "I know that you are going to pass some comment on how I shouldn't react like this and blah blah blah but I am telling you seriously, I don't want to hear anything about Shehnaaz right now," I said flipping through the file. "Found it, let's go," I said and turned to find Shehnaaz looking at me from the door.
