Scarlet's POV-
I throw my journals, sketchbooks, and little trinkets in my messenger bag. I double check that my wallet and concert ticket as well as my laminate are set to go. My clothes and personal items were tucked into my duffel bag already with my toiletries I had snagged earlier. With one last sweep around my bedroom and apartment, I let my feet carry me down the stairs and to the front door. Knowing Jeremy he was going to get here early. The doorbell rings out, almost causing me to jump despite expecting it. I'm a sucker for loud sudden noises, I swear.
I open the door to see Jeremy greeting me with a warm smile. "Scarlet!" he exclaims as he pulls me into a hug.
"You act as if I did not see you last week," I chuckle, but don't resist his hug. "You're going to be seeing me a lot, too, now."
"Oh whatever," he smiles releasing me from his arms. "I'll take those." He grabs my bags and tosses one over his shoulder and walks off to his car. Arms crossed, I lean against my door frame and shake my head. We still have a couple hours until we have to go, but of course, I guess it's better to have my things already loaded up.
"Are you happy that you guys got to take a rest stop at your actual homes?" I ask. Sleeping in bunks and occasionally in hotels all over the place doesn't sound enticing when you know you have a proper home I'm sure.
"Yeah, I mean it was nice pit stop for the tour," Jeremy answers, shutting his car door. "You know exactly how being out on the road is. It's fun playing for our fans and seeing them, but we do need to go home like anyone else."
He walks up the pathway and back into my place and I shut the door behind me, locking the heat outside. Sunglasses, I should probably bring a few. Jeremy has already hopped onto my sofa and I make my way to the kitchen.
"Do you want anything to drink?"
"I'll just have water, thank you,"
"Mhm!" I pipe up. I grab a bottle of water for him and plunge my hand into my fridge looking for my last Cherry Pepsi. As I make my way back to my living room I hear his phone ring.
"Hello?" Jeremy answers. I hear nothing but mumbling from the other end. Trying to be quiet, I carefully placed coasters down on my glass table and set our drinks down. "I'm at Scarlet's right now, I'm taking her to the show. . . We won't run behind. . ." Jeremy lets out a laugh and tosses me a look. "Uh huh, alright bye, see you soon man."
"Hmm.. I'm guessing that was Jake?" I smile, taking a sip of my soda.
"Yep, just checking in on what everyone's doing. He was just joking about us being late," Jeremy smirks.
"Hey we're not that untrustworthy," I snicker.
Jeremy simply stifles a laugh and then sighs," It's been awhile since you went on a tour with us. This will be nice for sure." I can't help but smile at him and to sigh as well.
"It's needed, for me. You know?"
"I hope it does you good."
"When has it not?" I smirk. Jeremy returns the smirk and takes a sip of his water.
Nearly 3 hours later of back and forth banter and jokes, we realized that it was time to head out. After checking my apartment one last time, we went to his car. "Here you go ma'am," he said opening the passenger door.
"Thank you, sir," I replied hopping into the seat. He smirked. Once we headed down the highway, the spark in me lit up. It felt like it had finally hit me that I was going to be away, doing what I do best. There used to be a time where I was always on the road and while it may not have been glamorous, those were some of my best memories. I rest my head against the window, taking in the lights, both traffic and streetlights. Yeah, I don't think I'll miss this entirely, I joke to myself.
Soon enough, we finally made it to the venue. The tour buses are lined towards the back of the building and to no surprise, I can already hear sound checks pouring through and see a few fans waiting in their cars. Jeremy and I search for the area with Andy and Juliet's car and park alongside them. I know friends are taking the cars back and housesitting for most of them. My apartment however, does not need much protecting. I begin to hop out of his car and he does the same.
"Hey, thanks for taking me with you," I say as I open the backseat door.
"Anytime, and by the way. . ." He trails off, grabbing his things before looking back up and over to me. "Please be safe and use protection if you don't end up staying in our bus," Jeremy warns with a little evil smile.
"Oh fuck you," I chuckle.
"I love you too," he replies blowing me a kiss. I blow him a kiss back as I laugh.
He double checks that we have everything before giving me a quick hug and running off to find the guys. I can't help but watch and make sure Jeremy heads over to Black Veil Brides' bus safely before I turn away to join the rest of the workers. If I wasn't used to the commotion that comes with a concert, I'd be overwhelmed. There's lines of people waiting for VIP off to the side of the building and workers adorned in all black coming in and out of every corner. My hands reach for my backstage laminate and I switch my camera bag to be towards the front of my things.
"Hey!" I call out, holding up my laminate to a worker. I get a nod and I continue speed walking up to them," Do you know where Motionless In White is at right now? I'm supposed to be meeting with one of the members."
"They're getting ready for VIP right now," the crew guy jesters to one of the building doors.
"Thanks," I nod, heading into the door and walking down a hallway for what seems like forever. Most VIP always ends up near the stage, which should be-
"VIP over here!" a worker yells, almost startling me. Ah fuck. The sound of a door clicking in place and scuffling of shoes echoes from across the halls. Gotta go, I think to myself. I quickly get through another door and land myself in the middle of backstage. Perfect. I sigh and continue walking out to the side of the stage and onto the main floor. The echoes made the fans sound so much closer I guess. I plop down and hear steps behind me and I turn to see Andy and them walking over.
"You made it on time!" CC shouts. Lonny and Jake smile as Andy wraps me in a quick hug.
"Duh, Jinxx wouldn't make me late," I smile. As I converse with them and tidy myself up, I hear more steps following through. Ice Nine Kills; I wave to Spencer and the guys and realize I really needed to leave for a second. "I'll be right back," I scuffle away to the nearest rest room.
The sound of kids is suddenly loud to no surprise and I try to take care of my business quick to not miss any shots. As I wash my hands I can hear all 3 bands speaking to fans, joking around already. Once I check my camera one more time, I head out to where everyone is to snap photos of VIP and to listen to the chaos. Leaning against a pillar, I study all the men onstage and all the fans, young to middle age and older.
I'd always joke to Andy that God demanded all lead singers be fucking tall, because how is it that almost every lead singer is above average in height. Andy joked that it was all part of the idea of rock gods.
Then my eyes wander over to them.
Motionless In White.
Let's see how I get along with this band, I think to myself. I pull my camera from out of my bag and sling the strap over my head, tapping the camera lens. A subtle smirk crosses my face and I trudge on forward.
