He gives me a wink and I almost burst out laughing. I'm glad to see that I am not the only one subjected to her mood swings!

Mark > You... Uh... Are you free for a drink tonight?

What is it with them all inviting me for drinks these days? First Jake, then Mark... Either I look like an alcoholic or I look like a drinking buddy.

> I'm busy tonight, but some other time, sure!

Mark > Oh... Of course!

He looks embarrassed. I must admit that he does look cute, all intimidated. He probably doesn't usually let himself go. Mr. Never-stop-working.

> You are going down?

Mark > I have to drop off a file for Mr. Carter... Have a good evening, Miss Langood.

He gives me a little smile and disappears down the hall.

In the elevator, I chuckle. Mark's behaviour make me laugh. It's crazy, my sentimental life had been looking like a dry spell and now suddenly I've met several very different men. In the meantime, I'm proud of myself! I handled the interview well, avoiding all the traps. I hope Mr. Intense will notice. As if I needed his recognition to feel 100%- satisfied! I don't expect him to give me any gold stars either! No, just a torrid night would do. I sigh, laughing. I am hopeless. It's not my fault, it's this elevator! It must be charged with obscene energy! Let's be honest, it's got nothing to do with the elevator. It's Carter and his charismatic aura that triggers my shameful fantasies. For starters, about doing totally inappropriate things in the said elevator. Bad idea...

When I get to the front reception desk, Lisa is putting her things away. She takes off her headset and motions me over. Lisa and I have ordered our favourite cocktails!

Lisa > To your interview then, Miss!

> Yeah, I handled it like a real pro!

The tinkling of our glasses is drowned out by our giggles. A group of three guys look at us rather insistently...

Lisa > Drop it, WA in sight...

> WA?

Lisa > Yeah, workaholic, the type that uses you for an evening to kick back and then never calls you again.

> And us? What do you think we look like?

Lisa > Nothing like that.

> Yeah... We get together after work for a drink to celebrate my interview... What's the difference?

Lisa sighs softly, glancing sideways at the group of men.

Lisa > Anyway... We couldn't talk about it last time with the girls... I didn't want to bring it up in front of Lydia... How was your trip to Houston with Mr. Intense?

I take a deep breath and stare at my glass.

Lisa > Oh! Looks like something happened!

> You could say that!

Lisa > Oh damn!

Lisa moves closer, a big smile on her lips.

> Where to start? I have to tell you something... Something happened in the elevator, the night I forgot my purse and we were about to leave for the Starlite.

Lisa > I knew something had happened! Spit it out!

> I didn't know it was him... If I had known, I wouldn't have done it. I think we're past the normal relationship of the boss and his assistant if you know what I mean. We really got close... I don't know... I felt something incredible when he touched me. A sort of indefinable tension.
