"Do you want to go have lunch after this?" Rafael Barba asked.

You were in the middle court and there had been a 20-minute recess so the both of you we standing outside the courtroom.

You raised your eyebrow at him. You knew where this was going and he already knew your answer.

"I can't Barba. I always lunch with my friend"

"Who is this friend you always have to be with? If I didn't know any better I would say it's more than a friend" he huffed disappointedly.

You knew the man had sported a crush on you ever since you had come to the squad. But little did he know you had eyes for one of his other coworkers. You had felt bad rejecting him every time he asked because you loved someone else. But over time the both of you had gotten used to it and now he just playfully asked you out.

"Maybe someday you'll find out," you said giggling at the immaturity the oh-so-formal counselor was showing at the moment.

He let out a dramatic breath, "Whatever"

You laughed at his dramatic theatric as a warm familiar scent filled your nose.

"Hey counselor! Hey Y/N!" a bright accented voice said.

"Hi Carisi" you smiled at the man.

Barba rolled his eyes at the chripy detective but greeted him nonetheless. He eyed the two cups in his hand. Carisi extended one towards him which the heavily caffeine powered counselor graciously thanked him for.

The other cup was extended to you and as your hands brushed a light knowing glanced passed between you two.

You thanked him for the warm drink and the blonde man smiled.

Barba had observed the entire exchanged with piqued interest.

"How come you don't tell Carisi you've got a "friend"?" he whined.

You sighed. Why can't he just move oooooooon?????

"It's just a coffee Barba"

"Okay then why can't you just have a lunch with me?"

You playfully glared at him as you pushed his arm. "Because I know it's not just a lunch with you!"

He let out a deep laugh. "Alright fiiine. Be with your just friend then."

A brown headed young woman approached you with a small brown object in her hands.

"Are you friends with a," she lifted the object to open it and you saw it was a wallet, "Dominick Carisi?"

He forgot his wallet?

This could be bad......I better get it before Barba.

Barba was quicker than you to to snatch the wallet out of her hands, "Yeah I know him and I'll make sure he gets it"

The woman thanked him and left, leaving you with Barba who was already looking through Carisi's wallet.

"Don't you know it's rude to look through other people's things? Especially their wallet?" you said as you tried to grab it from him but he swatted you hand away.

"Oh come on its not everyday I get to see Carisi's stuff. He probably has weird stuff in here."

You were not gonna have him do this. You tried again to snathc the wallet and you were almost successful but the wallet slipped from both you hands and something fell out making a clinking noise against the floor.

You knew what it was before you could even see where it had landed. You had to get it before Barba.

But of course the universe seemed against you. Barba had already reached down and located the item which he now was staring at in shock.

A wedding band.

"CARISI IS MARRIED???" he exclaimed. Everyone in the hall turned to look at the both of you weirdly.

"Could you keep it down?!" you angrily whispered.

He looked back at you and his eyes went wide. You braced yourself for the next words.

"You know who it is don't you???"

You shook your head trying to convince him you knew nothing but he saw past your lies.

He went through the rest of the wallet trying to see if there was anymore information dodging your attempts to take it back.

In a small pocket there was a small folded picture. It wasn't just any picture it was an ultrasound picture. At the top there was the name of patient.

It was none other than Y/N L/N.

Barba had the most priceless confused look on his face as you saw his brain connect the thoughts. You laughed as he continued to gawk at you. The snappy ADA was speechless.

Finally he said, "I have to tell the rest of the squad" and he was already half way towards the other side of the hall where they were at before you had time to respond.

Well it looks like the cat's out of the bag.
You smiled. You weren't necessarily upset but you hadn't wanted everyone to know just yet. But the look on Barba's face was just priceless and you wished you had gotten a picture. You reached for your phone and dialed a familiar number.

"Hello?" the cheery voice said.

You giggled. "Hiya handsome. By any chance did you leave your wallet at the coffeeshop downstairs with a picture of our babies and your ring in it?"

You heard him shuffle around before he sighed, "Yeah I did but I'm guessing you have it?"

You chuckled. "I'm not the only one who got a look at it. It looks like Barba finally found out who my lunch friend was and now is telling the rest of the squad."

The line went silent before he said, "I'll be up there in a minute"

To say the squad was surprised when Sonny wrapped his arm around you as you answered their questions about the two of you being married and having twins was an understatement.

The squad was happy for you both and congratulated you.

Barba handed back Carisi his wallet.

"How did you managed to keep it under ropes for such a long time?"

Carisi laughed at him before turning to you and planting a kiss on your forehead.

"I guess it was just one those things counselor. The ones you didn't know."
