Violet's PoV:

"You're just doing things for the plot at this point," Izzy answered me with a mixture of amusement and shock spilling from her lips.

Keeping Izzy up to date with the whole Draco situation was a challenge, especially when she had the memory of a goldfish.

"I didn't want to get teleported to that shit hole." I retorted whilst digging my fork rather aggressively into a potato.

"Ugh. Shit on legs just walked in." Izzy muttered under her breath between a mouthful of chicken and a grimace. I didn't have to look towards the Great Hall door to know Molly had sauntered in with her new clique. Merlin knows who had volunteered as tribute to be a part of that group.

It was only a few days until everyone would be going home for Christmas break. At least then Izzy and I wouldn't have to avoid Molly. She had over the span of an hour moved all of her things into another Hufflepuff dorm. I thanked whatever God was up there for that. It was exhausting enough having to bear the awkward silence in potions class let alone our actual dorm room.

Izzy's eyes filled with vexation as they moved slowly to watch Molly perch herself further down the Hufflepuff table. I was actually pretty over the whole situation. Confrontation wasn't my strong suit but that didn't mean I was going to let Molly back in.

Whilst Izzy continued making distasteful glances at Molly, my eyes drifted over to the Slytherin table. Instead of searching for Draco, there was another I was set on finding. A part of me hoped she wouldn't be there... but she was.

Astoria Greengrass had her head thrown back amid laughter. The tune was a lovely melody of positivity. Her dark hair cascaded down her back in shiny waves and her side profile made me want to cry.

It comforted me somewhat knowing that Draco was against this inevitable union but it didn't stop the bottom of my stomach from burning in envy. Izzy was sick of me denying my feelings for Draco and so was I. When you took everything away the stupid crush I had on him was all that was left and it showed no sign of releasing me from its clutches anytime soon.

I was expecting Izzy to follow my gaze to Astoria but when I moved my attention back to her she was watching something over my shoulder. Questioning, I turned my head to see a complicated scene playing out in front of me.

Katie Bell was standing. She was standing. I was surprised she didn't have half the school surrounding her like a swarm of wasps. Her small figure was facing Harry's and although I couldn't quite hear their voices over the buzzing sounds of the feast, I got the gist of the conversation.

"Is Malfoy okay?" Izzy's question sent sirens blaring through my head and my eyes darting further down the room. "He looks like he's gonna pass out."

Izzy was right. Draco stood as tense as anything with his perfect face a shade so pale it was almost translucent. He didn't feel our eyes on him or he did and chose to ignore it as with a shaky breath that I somehow managed to hear, he was striding to the door.

Harry caught Katie's eyes fixed on Draco's retreating figure because he turned around to catch the back of Draco leaving the room.

Something dangerous played in Harry's eyes as they fell onto the Hufflepuff table. He scanned swiftly, his eyes darting over faces until they landed on mine.

"Follow me." He spoke sternly and started towards the door. With a huff, I stood from the bench. If the chicken on my plate was gone by the time I got back I would sue the school.

I just about caught Izzy's perplexed expression before Harry placed his hand on the small of my back to make me move faster towards the exit. My mind was still buzzing with those sirens. I could almost see red and blue lights filter my vision.
