Lila's POV.
"Lila?" My mum's voice rang out in my head, bringing me around.
A wet snout nudged my arm. I flickered my eyes open and came face to face with my mum's wolf. I smiled weakly, pulling myself up. I rubbed my eyes before looking around.
"Are you ok?" She asked through the link. I nodded, sighing.
I'm not sure exactly what happened, but what I do know... He didn't want to reject me. If he did, he would have done it no matter what. If he meant what he said, I'd be dead right now. There's no way I could have fought them off with me feeling like I did.
"You're going to need to shift, baby. There's a lot of vampires here." She mentioned.
"Have you seen Alarix?" I asked nervously.
She shook her head. I sucked in a breath before I started taking my clothes off to shift. I shifted then shook my fur out. It felt good to be in my wolf form.
"Lila, Alarix has been spotted in the forest behind the house," Elias proclaimed as he ran into the room.
I turned and trotted over to him. "I can make you invisible for about five minutes. It will give you enough time to get out of the house and into the forest. I've done the same for Levi and a few warriors." He explained, running his fingers through my fur.
I rubbed my head against his leg as he pushed his hand through my fur on my head. He began chanting in a different language. A strange sensation spread throughout my body which quickly disappeared as quick as it appeared.
"There... Quick before it wears off." He patted my head gently before stepping away.
I dashed out of the basement. I entered a kitchen and choked at the smell of blood. I didn't stop to look at my surroundings; I didn't want to see the carnage. I didn't want to see all blood and death. I headed out the back door and leapt over the wall.
I rushed into the forest, following the scents. I needed to know one way or another what was going on. I could hear arguing in the distance. I pushed myself further and skidded to a stop when I reached them.
Alarix was pacing back and forth. The blonde girl was crying behind his parents. His parents were angry; I could practically see the steam coming from their ears.
"You should have just rejected her or killed her. We wouldn't be in this situation." His dad hissed.
"Yes, well, what you want, and I want are two different things." He rolled his eyes.
"Alarix, you are supposed to be mine..." The blonde woman whined.
I growled and snapped my jaw. They all looked around, confused. "There's a wolf somewhere." His mum fretted, hiding behind his dad.
"We're here, Lil. Eli masked all of our scents, including yours." Levi comforted me through the link.
I could have a little fun until the spell wears off. I giggled to myself as I rushed forwards. I nudged the woman's legs causing her to stumble backwards. I did the same to his parents before jumping at Alarix, knocking him to the floor.
I pushed my paws onto his shoulders, holding him down onto the ground. He thrashed around under me, his eyes were wide, and he looked confused.
I nuzzled my nose into his neck and inhaled. He still smelled like her. I growled lowly and rubbed my fur against him, covering him with my scent.
He sucked in a breath as I inhaled again with my snout against his neck. I raised my head and looked at him. "Lila?" He whispered.
I guess I'm no longer invisible.
