Elias' POV.

"What the fuck is your problem?" I snapped. "Why the fuck can't you just leave me alone?"

Both Levi and Lila were still struggling to breathe. I had no idea what she was doing to them. I know magic is involved; I can feel it flowing from them. I tried counter attacking her magic, but she was too strong.

"It's not them you want; it's me!" I yelled. "Let them go. Stop whatever you are doing and take me instead!"

"E... No..." Levi choked.

She waved her hand, and Lila and Levi both heaved in breaths as they filled their lungs with as much air as they could gather. I turned to Levi and breathed out in relief.

"Times a wasting, my boy... Let's go, Son." Lilith quipped.

I took a deep breath and moved closer to Levi. I placed my hands on his neck, resting my forehead on his. I sighed, closing my eyes before opening them again. He whimpered, gripping hold of my shirt as he forced himself closer to me.

"I love you, Levi," I whispered.

"Don't fucking... Do this." He growled breathlessly.

I crashed my lips against him as I poured all my love and feelings for him into the kiss. I don't know what's going to happen. I don't know what she's planning on doing or if I could even take her on. I need to do whatever I can to make sure Levi and Lila are ok.

"Elias, please, don't do this." He whimpered as I pulled back.

"I'll always love you." I breathed.

The last thing I saw was Levi breaking down in tears before a bright white light shone in my face causing me to wince. I blinked a few times until my eyes had readjusted. I was standing on top of a mountain with Lilith standing a few feet away from me.

"Why are you doing this?" I sighed, looking around.

I tried linking Levi, but something was blocking me. She must have done something to stop me from reaching out to anyone.

"Because you're still alive, duh!" She chuckled like it was obvious.

I groaned, dragging my hand down my face. "So why not kill me?" I shrugged.

"Well, I couldn't do it when you were young, but now I think I can do it now." She replied, staring at her hands like she was bored.

I conjured up the spell that Novak taught me. It blocks me from others' magic. If she's going to kill me, she can do it without magic. I tried linking Levi again, and there was still nothing... I just wanted to hear his voice one last time if this didn't go my way.

"Try killing me without using your magic." I rolled my eyes.

She raised her brow at me then furrowed her brows. "You've learned some new tricks, I see." She grumbled.

"I'm not going to make it easy for you," I grunted.

She moved towards me slowly as she glowered at me. I stayed rooted to my spot, she's trying to intimidate me, and I'm not going to let her. She lunged at me and dug her nails into my arms as I grasped hold of her shoulders.

"What did I ever do to you?" I rasped, gripping tight as she slapped me.

She kicked her legs at mine and shrieked. She slapped me twice before I pushed her forward, knocking her on the floor. I straddled her waist holding her arms beside her as she thrashed around.

"Are you going to stop?" I sighed, exasperated.

"Never! If it's the last thing I do, mark my words, I will end you." She snarled. "I gave you life; I'll be the one that takes it away."

I shuddered, dragging in an uneasy breath. "Please, don't make me do this," I whined.

"The minute you let go of me, I'm going to kill you." She huffed. "If you don't kill me, I'm definitely going to end you."

I sucked in a breath and slowly moved my hands up her arms. "It doesn't have to be like this." I protested.

She scowled at me, nodding her head. "Oh, but it does. I hate you." She groused.

She wasn't really in my life, not really. I mean, she was there, but she didn't show me much love, not like Leon and Ayla showed Levi and Lila. I didn't really notice because Ayla mothered me; they were both there for me.

I wrapped my hands around her throat and choked back a sob. "Just say you'll stop." I whimpered.

She bucked her hips, trying to throw me off. "I'll never stop." She seethed.

"Please, I don't want to do this." I sobbed.

"Levi will be the next one I go for." She snapped. "Then I'll take the-"

She coughed, spluttering for air as I screamed, squeezing my hands around her neck. My heart was thumping in my chest. My mouth was dry, and my head hurt. I'm not a killer, yet here I am, with my hands around my mother's neck, taking her life.

"Why wasn't I enough?" I cried.

Her breathing went shallow as she clawed at my hands. "I never loved you." She whispered before going limp underneath me.

"But... I... loved you." I bawled.

I stumbled onto the floor next to her and sat with my face in my hands as my body shook and I screamed. I don't know how long I'd be here. I was curled up in the fetus position, hugging my legs. The sun was beginning to set, and the temperature was dropping dramatically.

"Elias, where are you?" Levi's voice rang through my head.

"I'm... on some mountain," I answered.

"Baby, I can't catch your scent... I'm going to Parker for help." He replied.

I opened my eyes. I heaved, crawling away until I was far enough away from her and threw up until my stomach was empty and my throat burned.

Two strong arms suddenly wrapped around me and pulled me against them. "I'm so glad you're safe," Levi whispered.

"I killed her. I killed my mum." I blubbered.

"It's ok, baby... It's ok. Don't look at her." He muttered. "I love you; you're safe."
