For a reference, this is how it's going be with Olivia "talking." Italics for when she uses the voice app. Regular font for whenever she actually does talk. And Bold font for any other things like text messages.

Callie and Olivia were in a juvenile detention center, walking in a line.

"You two are getting out today, huh?" A girl with cornrows braids said. "That's what we heard." Neither Callie nor Olivia said a word.

"Why are you all so quiet, huh?" The girl said, stopping and turning towards them. "Who was all mouth the other day when I confronted you in the showers? Lost my yard privileges cause of you."

Her and some other girls started beating Callie and Olivia up.

A little bit later, the two of them were being led outside. Olivia had a red mark near her eye from being beat up. Some guy came over to them.

"Callie? Olivia?" He greeted. "Hi. I'm David, I work with Bill at Child Protective Services."

"Where's Jude?" Callie asked. "Do you know where he is?"

"I don't know." David said.

"Where's Bill?" Callie asked. "Why isn't he here?"

"We'll have to talk about that later." David said.

"I just don't understand why we can't talk to Jude." Callie said.

"I don't know what you're talking about." David said. He led them over to a woman.

"This is Lena. Lena, Callie and Olivia." David introduced. "I guess I could take them to one of the group homes."

"It's just for a few weeks, right?" Lena said. "Ok."

Callie and Olivia followed Lena to a car and both climbed into the back.

A few minutes later, they came to a house. The two girls followed Lena inside. There were two kids. A girl and a boy.

"This is Jesus and Mariana." Lena introduced. "They're twins."

"Hi." The two kids said. Callie and Olivia just waved.

"Mariana and Jesus were in the foster program, too." Lena explained. "They came to us about eight years ago, and we formally adopted them five years ago."

"The foster system sucks." Jesus said.

"Jesus." Lena scolded.

"He's right." Mariana said. "It kind of does."

"What happened to your guys faces?" Jesus asked. "Get in a fight?"

"Callie and Olivia kind of had a rough day." Lena said. "So, how about we cool it with the third degree."

"Where's the bathroom?" Callie asked.

"It's right through there." Lena said. "You'll see it." Callie walked out of the room.

Olivia just stood there, not paying attention to the conversation going on between Lena and the two kids.

"Olivia, sit anywhere you'd like." Lena said, once she was done talking to the twins. "Are you hungry?"

Olivia nodded, sitting at a spot. Lena placed a plate in front of her and put a piece of lasagna on it. Olivia quietly started to eat.

Just then, another kid came into the house. They talked about some scholarship. Callie then came back into the room. The other boy then noticed them.

"Who's this?" He asked.

"This is Callie and Olivia." Lena explained. "They're going to be staying with us for a little while."

"Oh, ok." The boy said. "It's nice to meet you both."

"This is Brandon." Lena said to Callie and Olivia.

"How'd you get him?" Callie asked. "99 Cent Store?"

"Brandon is my partner Stephanie's biological son from her previous marriage." Lena replied.

A woman came into the house. Olivia noticed that she was wearing a police uniform.

"What?" Jesus said to Callie and Olivia. "Nobody told you our mom's a cop?"

"So, you're dykes." Callie said.

"They prefer the term "people,"" Jesus said. "But yeah, they're gay."

"And he's the real son." Callie said, referring to Brandon. Olivia glared at Callie, willing her to stop talking.

"Who's this?" Stef asked. Lena and Stef stepped outside.

After a little bit, they walked back inside. "Callie. Olivia." Stef said, once everyone had finished eating. "Can we talk to you two for a minute." The girls looked at them.

"Olivia, here's something for your eye." Lena said, handing her a cold compress. Olivia took it and put it against the red mark on her face.

"So, there are some things we need to go over with the two of you." Stef said.

"Ok." Callie said.

"The curfew on school night is seven. You must ask permission from Lena or myself before leaving the house." Stef explained. "Also, you'll go to school while you're staying here. Lena is the Vice Principal of Anchor Beach Charter School, All the kids go there."

"Where do we sleep?" Callie asked.

"I'm sorry?" Stef asked.

"It's not our first time in a foster home." Callie said. "Where do we sleep?"

"Let me show you." Lena said. They followed her to the living room.

"One pillow or two for each of you?" Lena asked. The girls didn't answer. "Ok, I'll leave them both." She said. "I left some towels for you in the bathroom and do you guys have a toothbrush?"

"No, we don't have a toothbrush." Callie said. "How would we have gotten a toothbrush?"

Lena sighed. "Callie, we're on your side." She said. "You can take it down a notch, ok?" Callie nodded. "I noticed you were really upset when you were talking to David earlier." Lena said. "Who's Jude?"

"Look." Callie started. "When we went into juvie..." She was cut off by Stef coming into the room.

"Here are some clothes for you to sleep in." Stef said. "Tonight, if you want to leave your clothes outside of the bathroom, I'll wash and make sure they're clean for tomorrow, ok? Good night." She walked out of the room.

"You were saying?" Lena said.

"You have that toothbrush?" Callie asked.

"I'll leave some in the bathroom." Lena said before walking out the room.

"Do you want to go take a bath or a shower?" Callie asked.

Olivia nodded. She grabbed a pair of clothes and went into the bathroom. She had bruises on her body.

When she finished, she walked back into the living room and Callie went into the bathroom. When she came back out, they laid on the couch. Olivia couldn't help but start crying.

"Hey. Shh. It's going to be ok." Callie said, comforting her.

Olivia looked at her sister and opened her mouth to say something, but Callie stopped her.

"You don't have to say anything. You won't ever have to go back to juvie ever again. I'm so sorry I got you into that mess." Callie said. "And I'm going to find a way to get Jude back." Olivia nodded. "Go to sleep." Callie said. She stroked Olivia's hair to comfort her.

Olivia wasn't surprised that Callie knew what she was thinking. They were very close. Even closer than they were with their brother. Even though Olivia was older, she was a lot more sensitive than Callie was. So, Callie tended to care for her and Jude, when it should be Olivia since she was the oldest. Callie felt so guilty for getting Olivia sent to juvie. She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
