The next morning, they both woke up on the couch. "You ok?" Callie asked.
Olivia didn't answer. She just looked at the backpacks Lena had set out for them. "I know it's not easy starting over at a new home and a new school all the time, but we're going to get through this." Callie assured her. Like always, Callie knew what Olivia was thinking. They heard voices in the kitchen. They got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen. Everyone was getting breakfast.
"Good morning." Stef greeted them.
Callie grabbed a coffee mug, walked over to the coffee pot, and poured herself some. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at her.
"Would you like some cream or sugar?" Stef asked. Callie shook her head.
Olivia had just been standing there, feeling uncomfortable.
"Olivia, you're welcome to anything in the fridge for breakfast." Lena said.
Olivia saw some bread and butter out and started make some toast. Once she finished making it, she sat at the table and quietly ate her breakfast.
While they ate, Lena handed Callie and Olivia class schedules.
When she finished eating, Olivia went to change out of her sleepwear.
"Let's go." Lena called.
"Ready?" Callie asked. Olivia nodded. They followed all the kids and Lena out to the car and got in.
When they arrived at the school, everyone climbed out. Olivia looked at the school. In awe that it was literally on the beach.
"You guys go to school here?" Callie asked.
"Yeah." Mariana said.
"Brandon, why don't you show Callie and Olivia around." Lena said. "Callie's starting the day in Timothy's class."
"So, Timothy's room. It's over there. You'll find it ok, right?" Brandon asked. "I got like, 20 minutes before class. So I wanted to go practice."
"Practice for what?" Callie asked.
"The music finals for the competition tonight." Brandon answered.
"Oh. Right." Callie said.
"All right." Brandon said. "Well, see ya." He started to walk off.
"Hey, wait up!" Callie said, stopping him. Brandon turned back around. "Can we join you?" Callie asked.
"Uh. Sure." Brandon said.
Olivia followed them into the music room. Brandon sat down at the piano and Callie and Olivia leaned against the window. Brandon started playing the piano.
"What is that?" Callie asked after a little bit.
"The song?" Brandon asked. "I wrote it."
"You wrote it?" Callie asked.
"Yeah. It's for the contest." Brandon explained. "You need one classical piece and one original composition." Callie nodded.
"It's about the night Mom and Lena asked me if it was ok for the twins to come live with us." Brandon said.
"How is it about that?" Callie asked. "It doesn't have any words."
"Listen." Brandon said as he started playing. "So, that's me." He continued playing. "And these are my moms." He said. "This is all of us." Brandon said. "This is me, Moms, and the twins. See, how it all works better?"
"Nice." Callie said.
"I still think it's missing something." Brandon said.
"I like it." Callie said.
"Thanks." Brandon said.
"Wait, they asked you if the twins could move in with you?" Callie asked. "What? Were you going to say? No?"
"The twins are great." Brandon said. "I figured there was enough to go around."
Just then, a girl, with strawberry blonde hair, walked into the room. "Hey baby." She greeted Brandon.
"Hey." Brandon said.
The girl looked at Callie and Olivia. "Who's this?" She asked. "This is Callie and Olivia." Brandon said. "They're going to be staying with us for a little bit."
"This is Talya." Brandon said to Olivia and Callie.
"Welcome to Anchor Beach." Talya said.
"Thanks." said Callie.
"Callie has Timothy's class with you, T." Brandon said. "Could you show her where it is?"
"Sure." Talya said. The bell than rang. "We should get going." She added.
Callie turned to Olivia. "I'll meet you at lunch and we'll eat together." Callie said. "You'll be ok today." Olivia nodded. "Could you show her where her classes are, please?" Callie asked Brandon.
"Yeah." Brandon said. He looked at Olivia. "Come on."
Olivia glanced at her sister before following Brandon. He showed her to her first class and where her other classes are.
At lunch, Olivia found Callie and sat with her. "I found a way to get to Jude." Callie said. "I'm going to go get him after school. And you're not going with me." Olivia looked like she was going to argue, but Callie stopped her.
"It's not up for discussion." Callie said. "I'm not risking you getting hurt or you getting sent back to juvie." Olivia nodded and continued to eat.
Later that evening, Olivia was at the house. There was some commotion going on. Stef, Lena, and some guy were trying to find out where Callie and Brandon were.
"Olivia." Lena called. Olivia went over to them. "Do you know where Callie is?"
Before Olivia could say anything, Stef figured out where they were.
"They're in San Ysidro?" Stef said.
"What?" The man said.
"Are they going to Tijuana?" Lena asked.
"Let's go." Stef said. "I'll drive." Stef, Lena, and the guy all walked outside.
Olivia worked on the homework she had been given.
A little bit later, Stef and Lena came home with Brandon, Callie, and Jude. Olivia went over to her brother and hugged him as tightly as she could.
"Hi Olivia." Jude said. "I missed you, too."
Olivia kissed her little brother on the top of the head. She had missed him so much.
