Edward sat in his car ready to pick up Wendy. He noticed the car in the drive way and a dirty smell coming from inside the house. He knew who that was. Whom that car belonged to.
The cheers echoed out from under the front door as he knocked. There was a tanned boy with long black hair who answered the door. The tension high.
"Who is it?" Charlie asked not too far behind.
"A Cullen." The boy said with an unamused face and tone of voice to match.
"Edward, here to pick up Wendy?" Charlie asked.
"Yes sir." Edward politely said as Charlie patted the boys shoulder. A scream caught their attention, Billy yelled out the score as the other team intercepted the ball during the football game.
"Lana! Edwards here!" Her dad called out, as his attention was on the game. "Come on in. She'll be down soon." Charlie said walking in. Edward nodded closing the front door behind him.
Jacob sat back on the couch next to his father.
Wendy was in the restroom, cleaning up the last bit of blood that fell from her nose once again. The new treatment she's on for cancer was helping to slow the spread, but it made her nose bleed too much for her liking.
Finally ready, she fixed her mint green bow that pulled her beach waved hair back into a loose ponytail. She straightened her beige sweater and patted down her matching green skirt.
With a small backpack and her camera, Wendy skipped down the stairs. "Hi Edward." She gave him a smile. "Bye Dad be back later." She leaned down to give him a kiss on the cheek.
"Bye Sweety." Charlie spoke far to preoccupied to real care. He knew she wouldn't ring him in, in a romantic way. Not with the limited time she was on.
"Billy." Wendy then bent down to give him a kiss on the cheek as well. "Jacob." She gave him a awkward hug due to him sitting down.
"Why can't you stay and watch the game?" Jacob asked as he held her closer.
"Jake, I told you, I don't like football. Besides I'm going to the reservation tomorrow. Sues working a double and Leah can't watch Seth. " Wendy explained.
Jacob stood up to walk her out. "What about Henry?" He asked.
"Fishing." The two older males said. It was that time of the year where the men would take a few days off to fish and camp.
"Right. Fishing trip." Jacob groaned.
"Bye." She called out again. Edward was polite enough to also give a goodbye.
"Mr. Swan, what time would you like her back home?" Edward asked at the door.
"Before midnight." He said while making an odd movement with his arm, mimicking the player on the screen.
Edward nodded, closing the door behind him. Being the absolute gentleman that he was, the young Cullen boy opened the car door for her. The ride was quite, a comfortable silence between the two as the soft violin played in the background.
This wasn't her first time at the Cullen house hold, but it was the first time she finally heard the song named Wendy.
Her song.
Written by him. Edward.
Wendy sat next to him on the piano bench in the living room. Carlisle being at work, Alice and Jasper were out feeding with Esme, even though Edward said they went out to grab a bite, and Rosalie and Emmett were out in the city to get a new car part the Cullen beauty wanted.
They were alone in the house.
Wendy rested her head against his shoulder as the melody played on. Her eyes following his slender fingers as they pushed the ivory and black keys. Looking up occasionally to the hand written notes on a book.
"It's beautiful." She whispered out once the last note lingered out, Edward's finger refusing to lift from the key. "Thank you."
Edward began to play a different song. Wendy added her own rendition of the song on the higher notes with a relaxed hand. Her fingers sped up as the song did, instead of a violin she used the right side of the piano.
Experience by Ludovico Einaudi, Daniel Hope, and I Virtuosi Italiani.
Wendy set up the camera on the piano, her head back on his shoulder while he played her song for her again. And there she captured the prefect picture.
Edward smiled down at her as his eyes took in the photo. Wendy Lana Swan was in perfect bliss, a small smile on her face, her eyes closed. The polaroid was printed twice.
One for her. And one for him.
"You look really pretty here." Edward said in a low voice.
Wendy smiled just a little bigger. Her body shaking slightly from a holding in a giggle. "Thanks." She said lifting her head up to take her own picture into her hand.
