SEVEN: Mission brief

It's been over a month since the prank and the dust had finally settled with everyone. Since the prank Loki and Bucky had been very distant with everyone obviously planning their next move. Normal service had resumed for yourself though. You were back to the training room at 5am with Steve followed by breakfast. You liked the routine. It kept you focused for the day ahead and today was a very big day indeed. Your first mission with the avengers. You were extremely nervous, not that you let it show though.

It was 9am and you all began making your way to the meeting room to be de-briefed on the mission. Peter comes to your room on the walk there so you can walk together. Much to your surprise Steve is also waiting for you too. "Hey guys! You ready for this" you say whilst coming out your room.
"Hell yeah Ari we're gonna kick some ass!" Peter says whilst jumping in the air doing a karate kick. "Someone's a bit overly excited." You saying chucking. "Oh come on Ari it's gonna be fun!" Peter says nudging you. You roll your eyes before nudging him back a little too hard causing him to lose his balance and fall. "Well I'm not being partnered up with you!" You shout continuing to walk away. Steve goes to help Peter up but before he does you shout behind "Steve just leave him. He's a big boy." Giggling to yourself. Steve ignores the comment and helps Peter up anyways. "Thanks man!" Peter grabs his hand allowing himself to be pulled up. "Don't mention it."

They run to catch you up. You make your way into the room and place yourself in one off the chairs around the table. Steve is making his way to sit next to you but before he gets chance Loki and Bucky plonk themselves either side of you. "Well hello boys." You say smirking. "Why hello Ariana." Once again in sync. "Oooh my full name I must still be in trouble" winking at the pair. They both put an arm each around you and lean in kissing either side of you cheeks. "Eww! Gross! Why the hell are you kissing me!" You push them off wiping your cheeks. Both begin laughing. From across the room Peter catches Steve watching and he doesn't look too happy about the situation at all. Peter manages to catch his attention and mouths "U OK?" Steve just nods furrowing his brow.

Tony makes his way in and everyone goes quiet, the briefing is about to start. "Okay people so today's mission. We're going up against hydra agents."

You turn your head slightly left to face Bucky. You can see him tense up in his chair, even now it was still hard for him. You grab his hand with reassurance. He tilts his head towards you giving a warm smile, you return the smile and both look back to Tony, neither of you letting go. Steve was watching and appeared to be getting even more agitated. Nat was next to Steve and could sense the tension. She leaned in slightly and whispered. "What's wrong? Jealous ?" He just shrugs "Nothing and no."

"Oh come on Roger you haven't stopped looking at Ari since walked in. You like her don't you."

"No. Now please be quiet." He snapped in a harsh whisper. Nat just rolls her eyes at his response. His actions were enough to give her the answer she was looking for. Nat looks to Wanda hoping she was also paying attention she was not. She was too busy studying people round the room which meant only one thing. She is was reading everyone's minds.

**Tony's mind**

I don't even know why I bother with these meetings because none of these idiots ever listen. Peters trying to catch a bloody fly. Loki is staring at my daughters boobs. Dead man. Steve is looking at my daughters face. Ari's not paying any attention at all. Wait is she looking at Steve? God knows what she's thinking. My guess is cheeseburgers.

**Peter's mind**

I wonder if I can web this fly? I bet I can catch it. Wait no come back...I know I can catch you. Wait no fly don't go away I was gonna catch you. Dammit.

**Bucky's mind**

Damn I would do Nat right now on this table right  in front of everybody. I don't care that woman is just...

Wanda shifts her attention away quickly.

**Loki's mind**

I wonder how many beers it would take for Ari to sleep with me. Her boobs are-

**Wanda's mind**

Eww nope.

Wanda draws her attention back and sees the look on Steve's face. She nudges Nat "what's Steve's problem." Nat shrugs. "Want me to read his mind?" Nat nods in response. Wanda begins looking at Steve  intensely focusing on his mind.

**Steve's mind**

My god she is beautiful. I wish she wasn't holding Bucky's hand though. Why is she doing that? Man we're not even together... we're just friends but damn I'm so jealous! I wish that was me.

Wanda then glanced over to you and sees you staring at steve. She decides to read your mind.

**Aris mind**

Hmmm Steve's looking a little tense, maybe he always gets like this before a mission. He's so cute.*gasp* maybe he has trapped wind!? I wonder if I have any of those pills still in my room. They'll help. Ooh I wonder if we'll grab cheeseburgers after the mission? Mmmm cheeseburgers...

Wanda can't help but let out a faint chuckle. This catches your attention you look over to her.

**Ari's mind**

Hi Wanda! How exciting it this? Were you reading my mind? You were weren't you? That's okay. Poor Steve though. Remind me to hunt out those pills for him.

Wanda has to turn away otherwise she'll lose it. Nat leans into her. " What's up?"

"Let's just say her and Steve are on a completely different wave length."

"So let's split you all into teams." You all focus back on Tony. "Right so....

Nat you go with Sam
Bucky with Loki
Thor and Wanda
Steve and Ari
Peter and Scott
And Clint you're with me"

"Got it? I'll assign your individual missions on the way out." One by one in pairs you all go to Tony to receive your roles. Nat and Sam are to secure the building and security room. Bucky and Loki are to take out the guards whilst Peter and Scott are to disable the alarms and security cameras with a little help from yourself for the hacking part. Thor and Wanda are main backup to everyone. Steve and yourself are to recover information from the database gathering all intel from hydra before corrupting the files to prevent hydra from using them. Tony and Clint are to be standby on the Quinjet.

You all make your way to your rooms to suit up. When you arrive to your room you see a brand new suit laid out on your bed. It's practically the same as Nat's except it's a dark shade of purple and has a belt with all your different gadgets attached. You exit your room once changed and wait for Steve. He comes out his room and you both begin making your way to the quinjet. "Nice suit."

"Not so bad yourself Captain." You continue walking slightly in front of him. You get to the quinjet and you all board. It's about an hours flight away so you make yourself comfortable trying to hide your excitement.
