After a long day of taming dragons and finding lost treasure, I met up with my two best friends Maya and Luna. We met up at the Tea Time Cafe. All three of us have grown up as heroes. It's almost like no matter where we go, we are saving someone or something. It's fine though. I've never known any other life.

I got my usual order, a strawberry lemon iced tea. Luna got her usual, a mint mocha coffee, and Maya got her usual, a vanilla berry bean shake.

We sat down at our table by the window and shared about our days.

"I tamed a dragon today. Then the dragon and I flew to the abandoned cave to find the lost treasure. Pretty uneventful. How were your days?" I asked my friends. I took a sip of my tea.

"I helped evacuate a royal family when there was an intruder. Then I fought the intruder and won. I guess my day was pretty average. How was your day Luna?" Maya said.

"I stopped an imposter at a meeting. Then I was awarded with a certificate that said "Bravest Hero" with sparkles on it." Luna said.

We all sighed.

Just then I heard a terrible ringing in my ear. Me and Luna and Maya all threw our hands up to our ears. When it finally stopped, I spoke up.

"We're in a stor-" I began. Just then the sky outside our window darkened. The ground began to shake. Our drinks spilled and chairs were tipping over. "Maya! Luna! We've gotta be in a story! I don't know how, but whoever is writing it didn't want us to know."

"Thalia! You've got to be crazy!" Luna exclaimed.

"Luna, think about it," Maya started. "Our lives are filled with perfection and heroism. We've always learned that no one's perfect, yet we are. Everyone in our world is. It doesn't make sense Luna!"

"But if we're in a story, why wouldn't we be able to know? And why do we finally know now. I thought it was always our destiny to be heroes!" Luna asked.

"I'm not sure Luna, but we need to find out." I said. When the shaking finally stopped, we stood up and straightened our shirts. I grabbed my bag and we walked out of Tea Time Cafe.
