After walking around 15 miles on the trails, the sun started to set. We came to a clearing and stopped to rest.
"I'm gonna gather some firewood, do you guys want to find stones and build a fire pit?" I asked my friends. Hopefully I won't mess up again when I talk to them.
"Sure!" Luna said.
After Maya and I found supplies, we started to build a fire. Luna was out looking for treasure or things that could help us on our mission. Then something weird happened. The fire had trouble starting. That never happened.
"What's going on?" Maya asked me.
"I- I don't know! It's like it almost doesn't want to start! This has never happened before!" I stuttered. After a few minutes of trying, it finally started. Luna came back by us.
"Thalia! Maya! Look what I found—" Luna tripped. She quickly stood up with a confused look on her face. She lifted her left foot slowly and stared at it. How did Luna fall? I don't think any of us have ever fallen before. "Uh that was weird. Anyways, I found these geodes! Wanna break them open with me?" Luna had the best luck with finding geodes. Pretty much every rock she thought was a geode, turned out to be a geode. Luna handed the rocks to me.
"They feel pretty hollow to me! Let's open them up!" I said. Luna grabbed her sword and cracked them open. Then something bizarre happened. The geodes were in fact hollow, but it was almost like the crystals inside were gone. That didn't make any sense.
"Wait, why are they empty?" Maya wondered.
"I don't know! I thought I had good luck with these, but I guess I was wrong." Luna said. "Oh well. Better luck next time I guess!" And Luna and Maya just shrugged it off. I stared at the hollow rocks. Why wasn't the world making sense today. Does the author of this so called story really not want us to know about this at all? Or is this some screwed up dream?
"Thalia!" Luna said. She said it pretty loud. "I've said your name three times." She giggled.
"What?" I asked.
"You just had a puzzled look on your face, that's all." Maya said.
"Oh." I responded. "I think I'm gonna try and get some sleep. Good night Luna. Good night Maya." Maya poured water over the fire and we all layer down and went to sleep.
