When we got back to our apartment, we started getting ready for whatever we were gonna face. If we were in a story, we needed to be prepared for whatever is coming next. I braided my hair into two long French braids. Luna tied her brunette hair into two pigtails. Maya cut her hair in a way that wouldn't get in the way during battle.

"What do you guys think we'll face out there?" I asked Maya and Luna.

"I'm not totally sure, but I'm totally sure we can face it together!" Luna exclaimed. She giggled. I've never understood how Luna can be so positive all the time. The entire kingdom could be under attack and she'd still act as though it was a regular day. I still can't decide if that makes her weak or not. "Thalia, why do you have that look on your face? We're gonna be fine!"

"Luna, how can you say that! We've been apart of this so called story for our entire lives! I honestly don't think we've ever made any decisions for ourselves! Whoever has been writing our lives has to be a terrible person! Evil even!" I yelled at her. Luna's eyes looked to her feet.

"I guess I never thought about it that way," She mumbled.

I would have never said that to Luna. Luna was one of my best friends! In fact, this was the first time I've ever raised my voice at anyone.

"Now look what you've done Thalia!" Maya exclaimed. "You've ruined Luna's mood!"

"I— I didn't mean to!" I said. We all knew exactly what was happening. First I raised my voice, then Maya. Luna isn't even her positive self anymore. This is what we're facing. We were written to be perfect. Now I'm not so sure.

We all stared at each other till I finally broke the gaze. I went over to the table and grabbed my baton. Luna grabbed her sword and Maya grabbed her staff. Without speaking we all walked out the door and headed for the Windwood Trails.
