Chapter two: Save the girl

When I finally got away from all the guards I thought about wether or not I should put Sayo in the back room of the bar or my home.

Deciding it would be less suspicious I brought her to the bar setting her on the bed in the back. When I stayed her later at night when guards spent their latest paychecks here.

The first problem were the toxins that she had inside of her. Then the bruises and cuts. Luckily I was able to treat and bandage those well enough on my own. For the poison I called a rather shady doctor who would treat a patient without reporting a thing to the guards.

And for her clothes I just have her one of my shirts that was a few sizes too big and a pair of my underwear. It'd do until I had to get her some new clothes.

Luckily most of what she had in her system was very common ones and he was able to treat her the next day. But she still didn't wake up when it was closing time. So I just left a note on the nail next to the door that she should just stay in her room.

That day had been a lot more busy then normal. A lot of guards were here after not being able to catch the criminals that assassinated the nobles.

Of course I didn't look any different and just served each one of them. I wonder why the guards liked this place so much. Maybe because I had a large inventory of drinks?

It was the lifeline of my business so I always made sure to keep stocked and then some. Even the rarer drinks I had plenty of. But having connections in the underworld did tend to do that.

There was one fight that started between two guards who began bickering. But luckily a few of their friends dragged the two apart and out one at a time. Of course paying for the broken table and chair.

I'd have to try and see if they had any chairs that were the same style. I had a table in the back that I could replace it with but the chairs were often broken.

And after collecting the last of the payments for everyone's drinks I once again cleaned up. Any lost items I just put up on a table in the front. I didn't exactly care who's it was. If they lost it they wouldn't care if someone randomly took it.

And after finally finishing I walked into the back room. But then suddenly I saw a flash of brown and lifted my hand on instinct blocking the stool from crashing into my face.

I gripped it with my other hand and tore it out of the grip. Both the strike and wrenching it out of her hands wasn't that easy as I saw Sayo standing there.

She was slightly wobbly but she had a lot more color then she did before. But still it made sense that she tried to attack me. I was a stranger who kidnapped her after all.

Y/n: "You should sit. Your not fully recovered yet."

Sayo: "Where am I?! Who are you?! Where's Ieyasu?" She asked her voice trying it's best to sound threatening.

Y/n: "You're at my bar. I'm the owner. And the kid who you were with at the warehouse died." I said bluntly as I looked at her.

I knew it wouldn't be the best idea to just drop the news on her. But I didn't want to pretend that he was still alive. After all it would only anger her more when she learned the truth.

But then she fell to her knees shaking slightly. Tears starting to run down her cheeks.

Sayo: "No... No... That can't be true. He's still alive. He has to be... You're working with that family aren't you?!"

Y/n: "Very much the opposite. They're dead now. I listened to some rumors. All three members of that family are long gone." I said shaking my head.
