We arrive at floor 23 and my nerves begin to skyrocket as we step out of the elevator.
Vito stands in front of me, shielding me while we make our way down the corridor and into a new room.
It's a large space with a typical business setup. A long table sits in the middle of the room with chairs evenly spaced out along it and an entire wall made of glass which looks out over the city.
There are five men in total.
Only one other woman.
As soon as we enter they all stand and make their way over to greet us.
"It's great to see you brother," A man pulls Vito into his embrace. I recognise him instantly as Eliseo Vecellio and my heart thumps in my ears as I recall our encounter at the strip club. From what I remember Eliseo wasn't all that kind to me.
I'm proven correct when he fails to even acknowledge me, sweeping Vito away from my side.
Dickhead.
"Hello, little flower."
"Pigeon!" I smile in recognition. If any of Vito's men have been somewhat nice to me, it's Pigeon. We only met briefly, and he was high off his tits, but he was nice nonetheless.
"Bring it in, sunshine," he wraps his arms around me before I can even respond. His embrace is so tight it's almost suffocating. Giggling to myself, I hug him back before pulling away and introducing myself to everyone else.
I try to look for Vito but Eliseo must have taken him into a separate room, I can't see him anywhere. The thought settles in my stomach like a heavy weight, making me feel slightly uneasy. I hate to be judgemental, but I don't like Eliseo very much.
Instead, I try to ignore the unease by getting to know everyone. Since Eliseo left there are now only four men; Pigeon, Giasone, Rocco and Alex.
Pigeon is tall and lean, with long brown hair tied in a loose ponytail at the nape of his neck. His nails are painted red and black, and he's dressed in a black suit with a matching red tie. Upon closer inspection, I notice the intricate patterns on his suit jacket, flowers and vines circling around his body.
Standing next to him is Giasone. His face is worn and withered, scars running down his neck and across his cheek. His nose is bent as though it's been broken several times and he had a dark, tortured look in his eye. They're the type of eyes you struggle to look at. The type of eyes that fill you with dread.
I quickly avert my eyes away from Giasone and towards Rocco and Alex. They're twins. Fraternal, not identical, but the resemblance is strong regardless. They both have dark skin and even darker hair, yet their eyes are light and warm like the sun. I've only spoken to them briefly, they're quiet and far more reserved than the rest of the men, however their presence is still oddly comforting.
"Have you met Vera yet?" Pigeon asks, thumping his arm over my shoulders and dragging me through the room towards the small woman who's been eyeing me up since I got here.
She must be around my age, no older than 20. Her hair is a pale shade of blue, reflecting the sea in her eyes, but her brows and lashes are darker than soot. She doesn't smile. She doesn't frown. She merely regards me like a passing breeze.

Romance"Are you gonna be a good little slut for me and keep quiet?" He rasped, his warm breath tickling my ear. I nodded and he removed his hand from my mouth, reaching down to his waistband. "Good," he purred, his teeth grazing against my ear as he spoke...
