| DAISY |

"Daisy, it's time you got a job of your own," my mother starts, for fifth time this week, "you can't live off your father's money forever, you know."

I roll my eyes from where I'm sitting on the couch, not even bothering to look up at my mother. I don't have to, I can already feel her disappointed expression enough to know it's not a flattering look on her.

I slouch further into the thick, leather couch, still not bothering to make the move to look up at mother dearest.

Suddenly, my cellphone is snatched from my hands and I'm almost, almost forced to look mother in the face. As if I would give her that satisfaction though, instead I simply reach for the TV remote and start flicking through the channels, unbothered by her antics.

"Daisy Matthews!" She squawks, blocking my view of the TV.

Now I have to look at her.

What a pity.

She'll be paying for my irreparable visual damage.

"What, Mother" I retort, my voice dripping with a sour venom. She and I both know we have enough money for me to live comfortably; a job would be unnecessary.

"I'll be expecting you to have a job of your own by this Friday, or we'll be cutting your allowance." She decides.

I abruptly sit up, the TV remote slipping from my hand.

"This Friday?" I almost laugh at the thought, "I can't get a full time job in only two days."

As much as I'd rather spend my time partying with my girls, I'm not entirely opposed to working. Perhaps it'd be a fun new experience as long as I'm in a comfortable setting. But I have no chance of achieving a somewhat enjoyable job in merely two days.

"So," my mother peers down at me, a flash of arrogance beaming in her eyes, "do we have a deal?"

I furrow my brows, knowing she's won this time. If I lost my allowance I'd be hopeless.

So I do the only thing I can.

"Deal."

I accept.

And that's how it all started.
