TW- murderous thoughts, gore??

I flutter my eyes open to be met with Wilbur's foot waving in my face. The plan was to write music on the road, without any distractions. George had passed out too, I mustve been asleep a while but he mightve even been unconscious, I'm honestly not sure, no one is, but all we know is that we were both asleep for ages. We now are half an hour away from a motel that we are planning to take a break at. I am fully awake now but George keeps dozing off on my shoulder. The boys, excluding Will who was driving, all look at me mischievously. They are all kind of drunk, they mustve had something before we left for some reason. I hope Will didnt. Otherwise we might crash. I dont want to crash at the moment.

The sun is shining, lighting up the world, the trees, the grass, the flowers. God, I love the flowers, wild flowers are so pretty. Forget-me-nots are my favourites.

"STOP THE CAR!" I yell, bringing the veichle to a sudden halt, our bodies all slamming forwards. Everyone murmurs complaints but I ignore them and jump out onto the grassy field next to do road. I trip on the way out, my legs collapsing into the grass, giggling while the soft blades tickle my face. I inhale the sweet perfume of the flowers. My brain feels energised with the fresh air that fills my lungs, intoxicating me with happiness. I should go outside more if this is what it does to me. I ignore the confused whispering from the big van still sat bored on the road. I pick some daisys and other flowers and use my short nails to pierce a hole in the thin stem. I slide my finger down slightly to make a slightly bigger space. The green liquid from inside the stem stains my fingers slightly but I dont mind, what I do mind is the sun beating down seemingly, straight into my eyeballs. I forgot to put on sunscreen and I have a feeling that I will have a semi-permanent pink blush by the time I get back in the van. It wont matter once I'm done. I pick a second flower with a particularly long stem and thread it through the hole of the first. I slide down onto my stomach so I can get more comfortable. I pluck another flower from the soft dirt but its too short so I grab another. I continue my chain until I have a long enough "string". I tie a knot at the back of it so it's now a big loop. A leaf falls onto my face and I blow it off, in doing so I happen to turn my head and look into the window of the van to see George filming me with a hint of a smile on his face, the rest just looking at me, their faces almost unreadable. Of course he had to wake up now. I feel kind of embarrassed but I push the feelings away and try to keep enjoying myself, I'm done now anyway so I can return.

I stumble back and fling open the door, the stuffy, sweaty air hitting me like an unpleasant slap to the face. I tell them to turn on the air-con and Wilbur makes a mock-offened face saying "are we too stinky for you?" but I ignore him. Georgie is looking at me with his head slightly tilted to the side, his pupils huge. He pokes me in the cheek and I wince.

"It is sunburn! I thought you were blushing at me." he says, pouting.

Before I can respond though he speaks again, surprising me with his chattiness.

"You looked so calm and relaxed out there, it was really cute. I wanted to join you but I didnt want to disrupt your happy place." he says, interlocking our fingers. The gesture seemingly goes unnoticed. Either that, or they're too embarrassed to point it out.

"Happy place," I say slowly "that's sweet. My happy place."

He smiles and I kiss his nose. He giggles and I remember the flower chain.

"Oh! Look-" I say and pull out the wilting crown, placing it on his head as Will starts up the car again. We forced him to drive and he happily agreed, not realising how long we would be going for. I had the chance to stretch my legs but, of course, the others weren't as smart so Wilbur and James are getting cranky. Occasionally, one of them will nudge the other "accidentally" and they'll screech at eachother until they get distracted by a stray cat or something on the roadside. This pisses Will off so then he'll yell at them to shut up like an old, angry father with his kids.
