A/N: I know the first couple chapters have been short but you've gotta keep in mind that we're just slowly building up the plot and I'm working on a time limit aaaand getting hit with a slight writers block. My sister reading this is probably like "Oh great, she's not going to finish it now." I am, I have the whole thing planned out except for the fillers. Bare with me and we'll knock this thing out of the water. :)

I stood in the middle of a field, the moon was even bigger than it was the last time I had seen it, wild flowers of every shade tickled my ankles causing me to laugh, and I felt no pain. I was finally at peace. If this is where I was going to spend eternity, I could die a happy woman. The smell that filled my nose was the same one that had engulfed me when I passed out at school. The memory of that day fueled my panic. My chest got tighter and my breathing got heavy. "Calm down child." I heard a woman's voice, the absolute sweetest voice that has ever crossed my ears. Her voice flowed like like calmest River. I looked all around me, searching for this woman, but I couldn't see her. I did the only thing I could think of and started yelling out into the midnight air.
"Hello? Hello!?" I got louder. "I heard your voice! It's not in my head, it can't be!" I fell to my knees and covered my ears with my hands, squeezing my eyes shut as hard as I could. "Please? Don't do this to me. I don't want to be crazy!"
"You're not crazy, my dear."
"What do you mean?" I uncovered my ears and opened my eyes and standing in front of me was a beautiful woman with long white hair that touched the ground, she had a light pink aura around her, her face was tan and absolutely flawless. I would say that she looks like a super model but that would be an insult on her beauty. It's like nothing I've ever seen. Her eyes were so blue they were almost white. Her features are soft but there is a slight hint of worry in her expression. "I hear voices in my head, I died because I had to take a shot for it and my childhood bully beat me until I passed out and I only died because I cut my finger on a rock! I don't have a family, my only friend is probably worried sick, and the only guy I ever felt anything for is gay."
"He's not gay." I looked into her eyes in disbelief. "How do you know? You've never even met the guy." She laughed a mirthful laugh that made my heart dance.
'You stop that! We're straight.' I mentally yelled at myself and like she could hear my thoughts, she laughed harder.
"You're right, you're not attracted to me, dear. It's a normal reaction when my children meet me and even if you were it wouldn't be possible. Especially since you're not dead. Also, I do know Nicholas . He is another child of mine." She smiled down at me. "Great, he's my brother." She laughed again and held her hand out to me, not being a complete idiot, I grabbed it and she helped me to my feet.
"He's not your brother, my Dear. You are connected to him, though. You have so much to learn! So much I wish I could tell you but it's not time for that and you'll be better off hearing it from someone else." I just stared at her, completely speechless.
"Listen, Alexandria. Bad things have happened to you and more bad things will come. I can tell you this. You're not who you think you are but when you realize and accept who you are, your strength and abilities will allow you to shine bright and powerfully in a world of darkness, death, and decay that I never meant for my children. You, my child, are the only one capable of breaking this plague of evil." She smiled down at me and lightly stroked a tear from my cheek that I hadn't even noticed.
"Accept who you are and don't be afraid."————————————————————————
I shot straight up out of bed, sweat beads running down my face but I was still freezing. I had an IV stuck in my arm and a ton of chords running all over me. I had a cast around my left wrist and both of my ankles. Even if I wanted to rip this IV out and haul ass out of here, I don't stand a chance in this situation.
"I'm going to die again." I sighed heavily and flopped back into my bed which would be my final resting place. I hoped so cause if I keep dying, I'm gonna get to have a talk with that woman again. Who was she, anyway? She seemed like a Goddess of some kind but I never studied Greek mythology.
What if she's the goddess of Lust or War, or Tricks....? What little hope I had left me as soon as I heard the door open and shut. "Oh good, Miss. You're awake." He smiled at me but after Dr.Fritz and my 'parents,' I'm not trusting anyone. I sat back up on the bed and situated myself with my back resting against the head of the bed.
"Look..." I searched for a name tag but I couldn't find one. "Doctor, I don't-"
"Gulliver." He said. "What?" I blinked a few times, still searching like an idiot.
"Doctor James Gulliver." He smiled a cheeky white grin and pulled out his doctors badge that has tucked into the pocket of his coat. "My wife gets a little cranky when I poke holes in my coat." I stared blankly across the room at a white wall. Staring for a second until he broke the silence. "I know, a lot of people have the same reaction when they find out this handsome devil is married." He gesture down at himself with a cocky grin.
He obviously thinks of himself well, and he's got the whole blonde hair and blue eyes thing most women crave but I wouldn't say handsome. A devil, though... I'll have to get back to you on that one. He seems like a nice guy but so did Dr.Fritz and Nicholas until he had his sister beat me.
I internally groaned before I crossed my arms. "Look, I didn't do anything to deserve this, okay? I studied, kept my grades up, and did all my chores. I went to work, I never dated anyone and I was always nice to anyone I met unless they initiated me being slightly rude. I didn't do anything. I mean, I borrowed a pen once last week and never returned it." He sat down on his little round stool. "No you didn't." I rubbed my hand on my face in frustration. This guy doesn't know if I've given someone a pen back or not. "You've been asleep for a week, sweetheart." I scoffed. "Why would you keep me alive for that long if you plan on killing me?" He laughed. "What on earth are you talking about? Hang on a second."
He opened the door and in came the infamous Nicholas, a seriousness about him. He walked over to the spare chair in the room and sat with his elbows on his knees after unbuttoning his suit jacket and laying it across the back of his chair. With that, he never even looked at me, just at the doctor and gave him a brief nod to which the doctor told me to continue. "I was... uh."
"Look at me, Hun." Dr.Gulliver insisted. So I did. "Why do you think someone is trying to kill you?" I looked down at my self and back at him. "Look at me! Do you think I did this to myself?" He stood up and pulled my covers off of me, revealing my legs that were covered in giant bite marks and claw slashes. I stared at them in awe for a minute, too afraid to touch my own skin. Tears welled in my eyes as I looked at the marks that I would have as scars for the rest of my life.
"The wolf in the woods." He chuckled. "No, the wolf in the woods is what brought you to us." I choked on my breath and he handed me a glass of water I hadn't noticed he had been holding this whole time. "The last time I went to the hospital, I had just had my shot, and it makes me really weak every time I get it. I guess the woman must've known it." I'm not going to call out his sister while I'm sitting here helpless and he looks like he would prefer it if I was dead. If his sister did, why wouldn't he? "She... uh. Beat me in my sides a few times, hit my head hard enough to make my ears ring and then she hit my chest so hard it felt like I had been hit with an eighteen wheeler." I went to take a sip from the water but I guess I hadn't realized how thirsty I really was and I chugged the entire glass. "The room went black and the last thing I remember is my doctor saying she would finish it." I sat my glass down on the table beside me.
Of course the room fell silent. They'd just been hit with a bombshell I doubt anyone would believe. Dr. Gulliver cleared his throat before opened my file he had tucking in his arm, pulled a pen from his coat pocket, and started writing things down. "It's okay." I sighed. "You're not the first person to think I'm crazy." He laughed and closed the envelope, sitting it on the counter beside him. "Who else have you had a chance to tell this to?" I smiled half heartedly and shook my head. "I have to have the shot because I hear voices without it and all my senses and emotions start going so crazy it makes me black out." He stood there with a completely baffled expression on his face. "That's a medical mystery." He mumbled as he looked over at Nick and then back to me. "Well, I think it's time I leave you two alone."
God no! He will kill me! I had to think quickly... "Uh doctor?" He dropped his band from the door knob and turned to me. "Yess Dear?" I frantically searched my surroundings until my eyes landed on the empty glass. "Can I... uh... have some more water, please?" I smiled apologetically and he walked over and grabbed the cup with his friendly smirk. "I shall return!" He announced and hurried out the door, shutting it behind him.
With that last sound of the door clicking shut, the room fell completely silent. I laid back in the bed, staring at the ceiling as I let out a heavy sigh. "Just get it over with." You could feel the confusion radiating off of him. "Get what over with?" I winced slightly as my lungs seemed to tighten and they felt like they were filling with liquid again. I began coughing frantically. He was over beside me before I could get the second wet cough out, patting my back firmly but not enough to hurt someone who wasn't just recently beat in the ribs. He gave another pat after I had coughed a bunch of water up and I winced from it. He drew his hand back quickly and held it with his other as he looked at his feet.
"I don't know what to say about your situation. I'm just completely speechless..." He stood there, looking down at me and this time, I didn't feel anything for him. He was still an absolute masterpiece to look at but his touch, his voice, feeling his breath against my cheek while he was patting my back did absolutely nothing to me. I haven't heard any voices since I've had my shot either. I wonder how long it's going to last this time.
I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and looked down at my hands. A cast on one and a few scratches in the other. "It's not like you didn't know. You showed up out of no where and made me drop my guard just enough so she could come in and take me out. I'm not stupid." He stood there, looking at me the entire time with a look of absolute boredom written across his face. "Who?" I scoffed, finding yet another stride of bravery somewhere in myself. "You know who, Nicholas." His eyes softened as soon as I said his name. "Say that again."
"Say what?" He crossed his arms impatiently. "Say my name, Alex." I groaned and shifted my legs over the side of the bed, pushing myself up into a standing position and slowly turned myself around so that I was facing him. "I'm not going to fuel your weird sick games. If you're going to finish me off for her, just fucking do it already!" I was so pissed off that I hadn't noticed the nurse that had brought me a new glass of water. She sat it down on the same counter with a sink that the doctor had left my file on. She then covered her heart with her fist, bowed her head and mumbled 'alpha' before quickly turning out the door, shutting it behind her.
"Good, you can stand. I can't sit here all day." He said before he walked over to me and pressed his hands against my shoulders, making me sit back on the bed. He then softly grabbed my hand and silently removed the tape off my arm. After pressing a cotton ball against the entry point of my IV, he pulled it out and pulled a bandaid out of his pocket, placing it over the cotton swab. "There, now you're all patched up and ready to go." I couldn't help but glare at him.
