You were on the couch watching TV with your boyfriend Bucky. You were laughing and talking about how you loved that show. Your head was on Bucky's chest and he was playing with your fingers. It was really peaceful and you needed that after that horrible week you've had. Bucky turned the TV off and looked at you.

"Y/N, I need to talk to you."

"Okay." You turned to face him with your browns frowned. Your legs were crossed, and you were looking straight into his eyes. You didn't know what to expect. Perhaps a breakup? You were praying that it wasn't that. Your overthinking was interrupted by Bucky's voice.

"Steve need me on a mission tonight." He said, trying to search for an emotion on your face.

It was way worse than a breakup. You stood up, not saying anything, not able to think straight. Your eyes were glued to the floor and your breathing started to get heavy. Tears started to form in your eyes. You were completely wordless. Silence was all you could give to him at this moment.

"Say something please." He took your hand and tried to search for your gaze.

He let go of your hand after seconds of silence, it fell weakly on your side. Without a word you headed to the bathroom. You locked yourself in. You did this because you've always hated when people saw you crying, even your family. He has perfectly known that. You rolled in a ball your back, facing the door, tightening your grip on your legs, crying silently. This position always calmed you. He was at the door, trying to open it.

"Please Y/N. Open that door."

"Let me alone." You sniffled.

"Come on Y/N. Everything is going to be fine. I know how to fight. Moreover, I am not alone on this mission. It's okay. It is going to go just as planned. Don't worry." He said trying to persuade you.

You opened the door angrily, stood just in front of him and looked into his blue eyes. You were smaller than him so your eyes were on the level of his chest.

"Just like next time, right !?"

"Come on, don't make a big deal out of it. I am fine." He rolled his eyes and stared back at you.

"Don't you dare roll your eyes with me James!"

"Y/N-" He started.

"I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD JAMES!" You were yelling and pushing him because of how frustrated and mad you were. "You were in a coma! You were injured so badly that they told me to say goodbye! Do you know how that felt?" You said the last question in a whisper because your voice threatened to break.

"I am sorry but I'm helping people. I need this honey. I am trying to make amend, for God's sake! Can you understand that ?"

"You already made amend! You can't blame yourself for something you didn't even do! I can't survive another situation like this James."

"I-"

He was about to reply but his phone rang. You saw the name of Steve popped on his screen. It was a message. Bucky read it, opened his bag, threw some stuffs in it and headed out of the room. You couldn't believe it. He was about to leave things like that, leave YOU like that. He went downstairs and opened the front door. You followed him and stopped meters away from him. He looked behind his shoulder and saw your eyes and nose, red from crying.

"I have to go." He turned back around ready to go.

"If you walk out that door, Bucky Barnes, I promise you, that I will not be here when you get back. I can't watch the man I love more than anything get hurt like you have been. It's beyond me." Tears were falling down my cheeks as I was watching him take a decision.

He hesitated but crossed the door anyway. He wasn't able to look at you. He hoped it was just empty words, but in fact, deep down, he knew it wasn't. Your knees suddenly felt weak, you fell on the floor, unable to hold back your sobbing.
You didn't know what to do. After several minutes of debating with yourself, you decided to stick to your words and started to pack up your stuffs. You move to the bedroom, picking your clothes. Then, you went to the bathroom and something caught your attention; your reflection in the mirror. You were pale with puffy, red eyes. Your hair was a mess. You looked terrible. Then, you realized you were still wearing one of his t-shirts. You started crying again and took it off. You placed it on the bed.
You finished to take all of your stuffs and headed outside. You watched the house one last time before closing the door.

"Goodbye Bucky."

Time lapse – 1 week after

Bucky walked into your once shared house, he was exhausted. He has been away for a whole week.

"Y/N? I'm home!"

He was trying to find you, to finish your previous conversation. He searched all around the house and arrived at the bedroom. He saw the t-shirt and then it hit him. He realized that all your stuffs were gone and that you were nowhere to be found. He remembered the words you told him when he left. A single tear rolled down his cheeks as he realized his mistake. He tried to call you but no one answered. He stormed out of the house but didn't know where to start the research. He fell on his knees with his hands covering his face.

"Don't leave me..." He whispered, almost inaudibly.
