Chapter 4

A/N: Some chapters will be centered more around one ship, and thus is definitely one of them.

The first week of the school year passed, in some people's opinions, quickly, and to others it felt much longer. They met up regularly, talked in classes, and now all considered one and other friends. Surprisingly, the week left them all pretty close with each other despite the short period of time.

"You're insane." Ashlyn laughed at Big Red, shaking her head. He laughed along with her.

"I'm not joking, that's what I heard!"

"I know." Her laugh turned into more of a giggle. "But I really doubt your teacher told your class something about tank tops."

"Look, I know what she actually said now." He shook his head.

"Right, well... we should probably be quiet now. Maybe the library wasn't the best place to study if we aren't actually gonna get work done."

"Probably not."

"Hey, um, there's this party tomorrow. It's probably not gonna have loads of freshmen, and... possibly none, but if you wanna tag along you could."

"Us?" She asked.

"No, I mean, I think Kourtney's coming. I think I could just kinda... get you into it, you seem like a big people person."

"Parties aren't really my thing. Well, with strangers."

"Just an offer." He nodded.

"No, I mean— I didn't say no."

"Or yes?"

"Yeah, haven't decided. So, uh, who's gonna be there?"

"Mostly sophomores, probably juniors and maybe a few seniors and freshmen." He told her.

"Sounds fun."

"And I'm honestly not completely sure why I'm going, but... why not, you know?"

"Yeah..."

"See, it's kinda just a bunch of random people, but... I don't know, they're kinda weird, we might have to kinda claim we're dating at some point." He laughed slightly.

"To get in?"

"No, people just flirt a lot." He shrugged.

"Is this just you trying to ask me out?" She joked, but the second she said it her face had a light tint of red on it. She blamed it on the awkward feeling of the situation.

"Of course not, I just want you to come as a friend, and I'm trying to give you a fair heads up for the night ahead. First college party."

"Okay. But I think I'll come." She agreed, looking down at her book before closing it. "Come on."

"Where?"

"Let's grab coffee, I can't focus."

"Sounds good." He stood up and grabbed his own book. "On me."

"I suggested it."

"And I offered first." He smirked.

"Thank you." She rolled her eyes playfully, a grin on her face.

"Yep, anytime." He smiled. "So, auditioning tomorrow?" He asked her; the college was putting on a production.

"Maybe. I mean, the school is filled to the brim with amazing actors and I'm a freshman, I won't get it." She shrugged.
