Chapter 50: Harker

"I guess she's not quite ready." Harker stared after Alison's retreating form.

"Guess not." Ethan stood. "I'll go get the contracts."

Harker leaned back on the couch. It annoyed him that he was slightly happy that she'd left. Usually, he didn't mind sharing his sub, but Alison was different. She was his wife. He'd never intended to share her but when he'd seen the interest in her eyes as she'd looked at Ethan, he'd thought, why not?

He wanted to teach her about pleasure, and he'd bet money that she'd never had multiple partners. If she had her first threesome with him, he could decide how far the other man would go. Ethan would be the perfect guy for a Devil's Threesome. He never lost control and he was willing to play almost any role, including taking direction from the sub's master.

Harker wasn't sure how far he would've let Ethan go with Alison, but definitely not sex. He needed to know that any child she'd conceive would be his. He grinned at the memory of last night. He'd ravaged her and she'd loved it. She sure as fuck wouldn't laugh now when she thought of him and her doing anything together.

"Hey." Katie stopped at the table and put down their drinks. "Where's Alison?"

"Bathroom. Put the drinks on my tab. How's your sister?"

"Meh...okay. Morning sickness and bitchy but she's healthy."

"That's good. Parents still not talking to her?" He handed her some money for tip.

"No. It's against everything they believe in for her to be unwed and pregnant. I just wish they'd remember that they love her." Katie's eyes filled with tears. "Hopefully, they'll get over their hurt soon"—she forced herself to smile—"but I'm glad you're in a better mood..."

Harker shook his head, but Katie was looking down as she put the money that he'd given her in her till.

"...than the last time I saw you," she continued.

"Oh, when was that?" Alison moved around Katie and sat next to Harker. "He's almost always in a grumpy mood."

"Not when I'm with you." He put his arm around her and moved toward her for a kiss. Distraction was his best bet, but Alison leaned forward and grabbed her drink. Her gaze still on Katie.

"Oh...uhm..." Katie's eyes widened. "Uh...the last time. I don't recall exactly."

Harker winced inwardly. Katie was a sweet woman and lying wasn't her strong suit.

"You don't recall but you remember he was in a bad mood?" Alison's tone was filled with suspicion.

"Ah...yeah. Like you said, he's always grumpy." Katie looked ready to run.

"Katie," Ethan walked up behind her and now she looked like she was going to puke. "I need to see you in my office."

"Don't blame her," said Harker. "She didn't mean anything."

"Didn't mean anything?" Alison stared at him. "What exactly did she not mean?"

"Anything. It was just a comment. It meant nothing." Harker looked past Alison. "Ethan, don't fire her."

"She knows the rules." Ethan handed Harker the contracts. "Sign these and bring them back whenever."

"Ethan. Don't," said Harker. "Katie didn't know Alison was behind her."

"She knows the rules. She shouldn't have said anything unless you brought it up."

"I did. I brought up a conversation we had that night."

"What night?" Alison's eyes darted between the two, not missing a thing. "Oh my god. Adrian was right. You came here on our wedding night."

"Fuck." Harker closed his eyes for one second. He knew from business that everything could go to shit over one tiny detail; he just hadn't realized it could happen in his personal life too.
