I wake up in a daze, my eyes fluttering open as I look around. I'm on the floor, Leo's arm wrapped around waist, pulling my back into his chest while he breaths on my neck.
We didn't 'sleep' together, but it feels like it.
"You've got to be joking," I mutter to myself, going over what happened, "I literally just fell into his arms! Stupid! Stupid!"
I lightly touch his arm, gasping in shock at the electric jolt that quickly wakes me up.
"I'm gonna have to get used to that," I slowly and delicately try to move his arm off of me, lightly shoving. I think that I've gone far until I see the rest of his arm, and fall back in defeat against him.
I cross my arms as I let out an 'oof', swiveling to look at Leo's chest, "Good lord, is steel his cereal and steroids his milk? What the hell is this guy made out of?"
Smexy.
I sigh, 'Hi Willow.'
Why isn't he up yet? I want to see his eyes!
'I don't know!' I think angrily, 'Why don't you ask him?'
I think I will.
I let out a choking noise, feeling Willow push forward and engulf my consciousness with a graceful edge. My eyes roll back into my head, just as I'm shoved there too. When I can finally see, it's through Willow's eyes, in a gaze of green.
"Leo," She purrs, "Open your eyes for me," She strokes gently down his face, with my human hand if I might add, and then begins to trace his lips, causing him to stir. He wraps both his arms around us and growls. It turns out that even in this subordinate state where Willow is in charge, I can still feel everything he does, and I can still imagine everything I want him to do.
I mentally shake my head, telling myself to get back to what's important. Like the fact that Willow has control of my body.
'Give me back my body!'
Hmm, no.
'Willow!'
You've had your turn! You had it for 18 years! Let me use it a bit, will you?
I groan, 'Five minutes.'
Thank you!
I internally groan.
She begins to whisper sweet nothings in his ear, and I'm counting down the clock until I can get my body back.
By the time that he actually begins to respond, Willow's time is up.
'Alright Ms. Suave, give me my body back. Now.'
She rolls my eyes, scooting back as I take control. As if in a trance, my conscious is merged with my body again, taking Willow away. As this happens, Leo unconsciously pulls me closer, his fingers grasping my waist and rubbing there. Shocks erupt around my body, and I let out a slow breath.
"Leo," I whisper, and his eyes open slowly.
He has a lazy smile on his face, and I give him a seductive smirk, trying to get him distracted.
"Isn't this a wonderful surprise?" He says softly, burying his face in my neck.
"Yeah, sure," I roll my eyes, trying to shove down the loving feeling I have in my stomach, "Now let me go."
"Hmm, no."
'God, this is déjà vu.'
He murmurs sweet nothings, lightly kissing my neck and giving me heart palpitations.
I take in a light breath and shove, hard. He flies across the room, and I look at my hands in surprise, "Where the hell were you five minutes ago, when I actually needed you?"
I get up and quickly run out of the room, bolting down the hallway. I launch myself down the stairs, moving so fast that I can barely comprehend what's left and what's right. Well, I actually would not be able to see anything had it not been for the enhanced sight and hearing. I pump my arms and legs, sprinting down the end hallway and through the front door.
I pass bundles of people, just managing to get a glimpse at their shocked expressions. My legs are bringing me to faster limits I never even dreamed of reaching, the new found momentum sending me far and long.
"Barefoot? Really?" I mutter breathlessly, looking at my feet as they tread the ground. I can already feel the dirt caking my feet.
'Maybe being a werewolf isn't that bad, that is if it gives me this speed and agility,' I think to myself.
That is until I hear the loud howl that can only be from Leo. It's not that far behind, and I feel the panic of being locked up again reach me. A short burst of strength gives me the push I need to keep going.
I start hearing growling, and I know I'm beat. I don't know how to shift, but they can and from what I gathered from my readings as a kid, being a werewolf is a lot faster than being a genetically altered human.
Shift.
Willow is there, in the back of my mind, urging me forward.
'I don't know how!' I protest, but she insists.
Yes you do. It's in your blood.
'How?'
Follow the feeling.
'What feeling?'
She withdraws, and I search helplessly for her in my mind.
The trees whip by me, and the wolves of Leo's pack are gaining on me. I try and look for a feeling, but all I get is my own nervousness.
Shift.
Her voice replays over and over, and my hair begins to bristle. My body is buzzing, a restlessness inside me that can't be tamed by simple running.
I need to shift.
