The next day I walk into Vought and head towards the conference room, and I bump into Black Noir in the hallway. He doesn't say anything he just stands there, and I think we're making eye contact. I just stand there silently, arms crossed as we're just gazing each other. I tilt my head to the side.

"I like you" I smirk and walk away.

Probably leaving him a little flabbergasted. I walk into the conference room to see Homelander, already seated at his spot. I sit myself next to him, probably taking someone's seat but I don't really care.

"Hia Homey, what's got your panties in a twist" I say.

He looks at me confused, and on edge.

"What makes you think my panties are twisted?"

His Homelander facade is clearly up still, but I can see through it.

"We were practically roommates throughout our adolescence, I know you, I know when something's bothering you," I explain, expressing my concern. I place my hand on his shoulder and lean closer. "you know you can talk to me, I'm probably one of the only people here who can get you at least a little."

His facade seems to drop, his eyes soften but only for a moment before the Deep walks in, with a smug look on his face. Which is wiped off the second he sees me, and then gets even worse when he sees Homelander.

"Apollo could you give us a moment?" Homelander asked.

I nod and leave the room, pushing past the Deep, who looks like he's gonna shit himself. I wonder what that's about. I wander around the tower and bump into Starlight again, who looks like she's about to burst. She sees me and grabs my hand, pulling me into an empty room.

"I'm so sorry I don't know what to do, they have me going on a mission with Deep, and I know he's number two and I gotta listen but- " I cut her off.

"Deep isn't number two around here"

Her face contorts into something like rage.

"Look Star, I can't change anything about your mission, once Vought is set on something it sticks. But there's nothing more Deep can do to you which he hasn't done already. If he tries something again, let me know, or y'know just fry his dick off" I explain.

Her anger fades away and she bursts into tears.

Well this is awkward.

I give her a hug, and try to calm her down, rubbing her hair.

"Besides, it seems like Deep pissed off Homelander, his ego is about to drop deeper then that ocean he loves so much" I joke.

She lets out a sad chuckle.

"Just tell him off, he's not that hard to get to leave you alone," I say.

I give her one last smile and then leave her to compose and clean herself up. I run into Homelander again and he walks over to me, and once again I find myself being pulled into yet another room.

"I want you to help me with something," he says.

I'm half surprised, but mostly intrigued.

"Wow, the mighty Homelander asking for help," I tease.

He rolls his eyes.

"look I don't actually need your help, I just want your company," he says.

Now I'm really surprised, and I soften my expression.

"Is everything alright with you? I know it's been a while but you can talk to me. I did mean what I said before deep came in," I reach up to touch his arm but he shrugs it off.

"I'm fine!" He snaps.

If I didn't have my powers, that would've hurt. He knows he's loosing his temper, probably being pushed by whatever happened with Deep and whatever else he's dealing with. I roll my eyes and pull him into a hug. One he doesn't return. Well not at first.

"You can't push me away y'know,"

He sighs, and hugs me back.

"I know I can't, "

After I hear his breathing and heart even out, hopefully meaning he's calm I let him go, be reluctantly does the same. Not used to the physical affection he craves. I cup his face in my hand and be leans into it, only slightly.

"You already tried once, it didn't work out," that makes him chuckle.

I remove my hand and cross my arms.

"Now what do you want me to help you with Homey," I say with a smile.

His smile once again disappears and he begins to explain,  "Translucent has been kidnapped, I want you to help me get him back."
