"Wait Translucent is missing? Why aren't we out looking for him?" I ask

"Exactly! That's my point, we should all be looking for him, his tracker went dead, I'm pretty sure something happened to him!" he begins to get riled up.

I pull him in for another hug.

"No wonder you're so upset,"

I rub his hair gentle caressing it.

"Of course I'll help you find him. Whenever you need me I'll be there, I pinkie promised remember," I chuckle.

We let go and he chuckles too. I put my hand up and put my pinkie in the air.

"Come onnnn," I say.

He rolls his eyes and smirks, intertwining his pinkie in mine.

"I still can't believe you've looped me into this pinkie promise bullshit," he smirks.

"Oh shut up you know you love it," I jokingly punch his shoulder.

He rolls his eyes and fakes hurt on his shoulder.

"I remember first teaching you that. You looked at me like I had two heads," I joke around.

"I remember you trying to teach me a lot of things," He laughs.

I'm glad we can joke about the labs, it wasn't something easy. I don't know how Homelander did it for so long before I came around. I had a loving family before I.... before, he didn't. They's poke and prod at us day after day, and eventually they'd throw us at one another. Seeing if one could hurt the other, how much the other one could take, it was rough.

"Do you want to hang out after A-Trains race later? I'll order pizza, I made the lab promise to not bug the house so the inside has complete privacy. We'll get to hang out and catch up, " I suggest.

"Yes of course," he quickly blurts out.

"Great! I've really missed you," I say.

This time he embraces me in a very tight hug, one where if I would be normal probably would've crushed me. I simply embrace him back until he's ready to let go, and once he does, his Homelander facade is back up along with his cold demeanor.

"I'll keep you posted about Translucent, I've got to go on a mission with Maeve but I'll see you at the race," he says.

"See ya later Homey,"

He doesn't smile this time, he simply walks out of the room and flies off.

For the rest of the day I just hang out at the Tower, I haven't had a mission yet but I heard that Starlight got in trouble and praised all within the same day. Sounds like Vought.

The race comes later in the day, and the second I get there I can't wait for it to be over. Before it Starts I'm stuck signing merch next to Black Noir, who I shoot a wink at. I think he liked it but its hard to tell. I take a picture with a little girl which was sweet, I appreciate the change from the perverts. I was told since Starlight got the spotlight recently they really need to push the feminism thing so today I'm gonna be standing next to Homelander and Maeve.

When I reach the two of theme Homelander has a fake smile thrown onto his face as he's waving tot he crowd, Maeve does too, but for some reason she has the look of fear in her eyes.
