Noir and I return to the tower, where Annie greets me.
"Hey, how come you aren't going to the religious expo?" she asks.
I chuckle, as if its kinda obvious.
"Well fire is kinda the opposite of the big man isn't it. Can't have someone there who burns people like the devil, and named after a Greek god," I explain.
She blushes embarrassed, "I didn't even think of that I'm sorry."
"It's all good An, thought I can't say I'm jealous, a Jesus shoving expo is not my idea of fun," I say.
She nods, "I understand, I'll get to see some old friends. I practically grew up on these things."
She waves at Noir who just stares, I nudge his arm and he finally waves back. She looks surprised before her Ashley rushes down the hall,
"Starlight what are you doing we need to leave like now, Homelanders finishing up his thing at the memorial and we cannot be late. Lets go," Ashley says, "Oh and you two, A-Train was looking for you."
Annie apologizes as she's brushed away by Ashley and I can feel Noir staring at me.
"What she's sweet, don't be judgey to me for making a friend," I explain.
We head down to IT together where A-Train is pacing intently.
"You two need to come take a look at this," he says. Motioning us towards the computers.
"This guys got 34 addresses and at least a dozen aliases," Trevor says. "Who the hell is this guy?"
Handing us a picture of a man, with light facial hair and a buzz cut.
"Something we're running down on our own," A-Train says.
I raise an eye brow and look at Noir who shrugs.
"Uh since when do you guys run things down on your own," he asks.
"Trevor? " A-Train says.
Trevor nods.
"Shut up."
We filter through this guys aliases. He seems to mostly go by Frenchie, how cute. He's got a girl, thing, I don't know. Noir and I go to check that out and A-Train stays behind to filter through the rest of the paperwork.
Noir hops on my back and we head towards the girls place, sure enough she's the same girl in the photos, she's quite beautiful, we're sneaky, but not too sneaky, we want her to see us so she calls him. We see her duck into an alley and bingo.
I call A-Train.
"She's calling him now, trace the call, send us the location. We'll meet you there," I say.
I plop onto the edge of the rooftop and we sit there.
"Did you like your milkshake?" I ask.
Noir nods.
"Well good, that place makes the best shakes in the city, I'd be offended if you didn't," I joke. "But I'm glad you liked it, and now that they know you're my friend you're welcome to go back anytime you want."
Noir takes a notepad out of his utility belt and a pencil and begins writing in it excitedly.
~We should go back together some time~
"That'd be great, I'd love that. Maybe make it an after mission tradition, mauling and milkshakes. We'll probably be a little team you and I, minus the fire we're both pretty stealthy. Plus we both look pretty good in black,"
He nods and starts writing again.
~I'd like that alot, although you probably look good in everything~
I blush and smile, tucking some hair behind my ear.
"You probably wouldn't look bad yourself, I wouldn't mind seeing you in something snazzy, like a suit," I tease.
He looks down, staring at his notepad. And before anything else is said, my phone goes off with the location of our target.
"Welp its time to go. Wanna race?" I suggest.
He nods, so I chuckle and I'm off.
Noir rips out a page in his notepad, before he crumbles it up and shoves it into his pocket before he speeds off.
