10 years later -

Man, where do I begin about what has happened the last ten years? Let's see, Nathan and I married five years ago, and we had a simple wedding and reception in our backyard with our closest friends and family. We walked down the aisle together; we wrote our own vows and had three attendants each. Will was my best man, and Kai was my groomsman, and Adam was Nathan's groomsman, and Alex was Nathan's best man. Kaidence was my junior groomswoman, and Kaiden was Nathan's junior groomsman since they were 8-years old at the time.

Kai and Adam married eight years ago with a small wedding and reception in our backyard, too. They officially adopted Kaiden and Kaidence nine years ago after their biological parents lost their parental rights after failing to do what they needed by the court.

Kaiden and Kaidence are 13-years-old now, and Adam and Kai adopted two more children - two biological siblings, this adoption happened five years ago just after Nathan and I married. Kai and Adam adopted Aurora and Jason - Aurora is now 10-years-old, and Jason is now 6-years-old.

Nathan and I have two adoptive children - Noelle Marie, who is 9-years-old, and Axel James, who is 5-years-old. We adopted Noelle when she was 4-years-old, and Axel when he was 2-years-old. We want at least two more children, but only time will tell with this. Currently we have a wonderful lady, Annie, who is our surrogate, and she is seven months pregnant with my biological son. Nathan and I are naming him Nathaniel Edward. Then next time around with Annie as our surrogate, we are using Nathan's sperm, but this won't happen for a few more years.

I still work at Nathan's business in the mail room, but only part time. I leave work at noon every work day to pick Axel up from his half day of kindergarden, and spend the afternoon with him until we pick Noelle up from school at 3 p.m. Then we spend the afternoon together unitl Nathan arrives home at 6 p.m., and we spend the rest of the evening together.

When our baby is born, Nathan will work from home for two months, and I won't work any longer, so I can stay at home to care for the baby, and Axel and Noelle when they are home.

Will moved into his new home four years ago with his now wife, Karra Lane, who is our age. They started dating seven years ago, got enganged five years ago, and married two years ago. They have a 4-year-old daughter named Kiara Marie, who is a spitting image of Will, but acts like Karra. They also have a 1-year-old son named Kennedy James, who is a beautiful combination of his parents.

Neither Kai or I invited our parents to our weddings since we didn't want their toxicness on our special days. We saw our parents once, six months ago when they showed up at Kai's home unannounced. Nathan, our children, myself, Will, Karra, and their babies, and Andrew were at Kai and Adam's for a cookout. I happen to be in the kitchen with Kai to grab food to cook on the grill when our parents knocked on the front door. Everyone else was outside it the fenced in backyard, so Kai asked me to answer the door, which I did since I didn't have my hands filled with items yet. I happily answered the door until I saw who was standing on the other side.

Our parents didn't look much different than the last time I had seen them, just graying hair, and a few wrinkles around their eyes. I had demanded to know why they were at Kai's, and they said they had wanted to apologize to Kai and me for the incident on my 15th birthday. Well that idea lasted four about five minutes when Kai came to see what was taking me so long, and he grudgingly invited them to the backyard, which they did.

Kai and I introduced them to those they did not know, which was everyone but Will. They fished mouthed in shock at the mention of Kai's husband, and mine, and that we both had children. Mum and dad fished mouth silently for about two minutes before dad started yelling horrible things to Kai and I that I will not repeat. Mum looked excited to have two son-in-laws, and granbabies, but she still didn't stop dad from his horrible words.

Dad's angry rant was silenced by Kaidence before any of us adults could react. Kaidence, fearlessly walked up to dad, looked him right in the eyes as she placed her hands on her hips, cocked her right hip out slightly, and proceeded to tell him off. She told him to stop acting like a bitch, and once he was stunned into silence, she continued to thell him to growup, that love is love no matter who it is between, and that we had no room in our family for an angry, homophic asshole like him.

I have always been proud of my neices and nephews and my children, but she made me even prouder that day. Kai and Adam did not even repromand Kaidence for swearing, as they were extremly proud of her, too, as we all were. Our parents left then, and we have not seen or heard from them since. They are the one's missing out on their children, but more importantly, they are missing out on their wonderful granbabies.

My life has definitly turned out better than I ever imagined it would after what happened on my 15th birthday, but I love how my life has turned out. I love my life, and my family, and I love that I fell in love with my boss.
