"You what?" shrieked Jason. "Are you hurt? Is it bleeding? Do you need a doctor? Or a hospital?"

"Jason," said Marinette with amusement.

Jason ignored her.

"Jason." Again, ignored.

Finally, getting a little exasperated, she said in a loud voice, "JASON!"

That stopped Jason. From what you ask?

From fussing over his daughter who – according to her, had tripped while playing.

"What?" Jason asked with irritation, evidently itching to go and check on Alicia.

Marinette smiled fondly at him and chuckled. "I don't think Alice is going to be able to answer you if you don't let her speak, you know."

Jason smiled sheepishly and looked at Alicia, his daughter, expectantly. "Well?"

Alicia looked at the scratch on her knee with fascination. "No, it doesn't hurt, Daddy."

Jason exhaled heavily in relief. "Thank god."

He frowned as he looked it over. "But it will need a bandage, you know."

"No!" yelped Alicia. "I don't want a bandage, I want to see the stuff coming out of my leg!"

Marinette knelt down with her hand on her daughter's shoulder. "Alice, honey, you know we can't do that."

"But why?" whined Alicia.

"Because otherwise you'll have an infection in your leg," said Marinette patiently.

Alicia looked at her with confusion. "What's an 'in-ferc-tion'?" She attempted to say the word correctly.

Jason grinned as he saw his chance to change Alice's mind about the bandage. He sat down beside his wife and daughter.

"Infections," he said, wrinkling his nose at the number of times he'd gotten them, "Are when icky, dirty little germs enter our body and make us sick and stuck in bed."

Marinette smiled at him admiringly. They both knew Alicia hated staying in bed for more than bedtime.

As expected, little Alicia's nose wrinkled as well, much like her father. "Eww," she said, "That's gross."

"So now do you want a bandage?" asked her mother gently.

Alicia nodded her head vehemently. "Yep! I don't want those icky, dirty and disgusting germs in me."

Marinette and Jason burst out laughing at the amount of sheer disgust in her voice.
