The scene opened showing the surprise party in full swing.

"*gasps* A SURPRISE PARTY!" Pinkie squealed, bouncing with excitement. "Maybe this is just what Twilight needs to stop being such a grumpy horse all the time!"

"Pony." Sunset corrected.

"That's a lot of ponies, though..." Lyra remarked, glancing at the screen. "Who invited them all?"

"Good point." Bon Bon agreed, tilting her head thoughtfully. "Isn't Twilight new to town? I don't think she'd know most of them..."

She turned to Sunset. "Do ponies just throw welcome parties for anyone?"

"Not that I would know of." The flame haired girl replied, shaking her head. Not that she'd attended many parties herself in Equestria, but still...

"Actually, Bon Bon, you're wrong!" Pinkie piped up, pointing at the screen. "See? There's Minuette, Twilight knows her!"

"Wait, wasn't she the same pony who invited Twilight at the beginning?" Rainbow Dash asked, leaning in.

"So, does Minuette live in Ponyville, or did she make a special trip?" Rarity wondered.

Before anyone could answer, Derpy giggled and pointed to the screen. "Oh, look, there I am!" She pointed to a gray pegasus with bubbles for a cutie mark.

"Huh, It does look like you!" Lyra said with a grin, then gasped. "Hey, Bon Bon, look! That cream-colored earth pony with the swirly mane, it's totally you!"

"You really think so?" Bon Bon replied, studying the screen. "I guess I can see it..." She then spotted a familiar sea-green unicorn. "And if I'm there, you must be there too!"

"I'd recognize my bestie anywhere and there she is!" She said, giving Lyra a sidelong glance and smiling at her.

"Best friends forever!" The two of them yelled as they hugged each other.

"Those two are inseparable." Applejack thought to herself.

"I wonder who else might be there," Sunset mused, scanning the crowd.

"Like me?" Lightning Dust piped up, curious. "I kinda want to see my pony self."

"Ha! As if you'd get an invite!" Rainbow snickered, banging the table with laughter, while Lightning Dust scowled.

"The Great and Powerful Trixie cannot see herself!" Trixie commented.

With that, the other students started eagerly scanning the background, hoping to spot their own pony look-alikes in the crowd.

The pink pony, who dashed away so quickly upon first seeing Twilight, popped her head into view to address her. This is Pinkie Pie, whose voice is cheerful, energetic, and slightly hyperactive-sounding.

"Surprise! Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie, and I threw this party just for you!" The pink pony introduced herself as she hopped around. "Were you surprised? Were ya? Were ya? Huh huh huh?"

"Yeah, that's Pinkie Pie alright." Rainbow Dash said coldly.

"HI, OTHER ME! It's nice to finally meet you!" Pinkie called out as she waved at the screen. "And yes, I really was surprised! I think you did a great job with that party and let's hope this turns Twilight into a more happy pony!"

"Very surprised. Libraries are supposed to be quiet." Twilight said, a tone of both confusion and shock in her voice.

"Well, that's silly!" Pinkie giggled, leaning on Twilight. "What kind of welcome party would this be if it were quiet? I mean, duh, bo-ring!"
