As the sun rose, our joyous family sat at the dining table.
"Oh, Neon, your face is a mess. There, all taken care of."
"Mwa! Thank you, Papa Ford!"
"You're welcome... Oh, you too, Morgy? You are alike in most peculiar ways. Here, let me clean you up too."
"Mwa! Thank you, Papa Ford! Hehe!" Morgy copied Neon's little voice, making her and Paru giggle.
"Today's a big day for you, darling. You're starting at school today." Paru seemed just as jittery and excitable as Neon.
"I know! I'm so excited! Who's gonna walk me there?" Me and Paru put up our hands, so we decided we would both walk her to her school. "I'm a little nervous though. What if I don't make many friends?"
"You'll be the most popular kid in school, trust me."
Once breakfast ended, we dressed Neon in her prettiest attire, and tied her hair up beautifully. We were surprisingly good at dressing her up for a bunch of young men with no experience.
"Let's goooo!" Neon gripped my hand on the left, and Paru's on the right. "I've heard Kasumi's such a kind teacher!"
"Yeah, my friend Yaichi gets taught by her. He's gotten much less shy since he got her as a teacher. Have a lovely day, Neon. Bye bye, Ford. Enjoy your day, Paru!" Morgan waved goodbye to us, and we were on our way to Tsuyukusa, the Japanese town where the schoolhouse was.
Kasumi greeted us at the door, and waved kindly to Neon.
"Is this Neon? Aren't you just the prettiest little girl! Come on in and make yourself comfortable." Neon waved goodbye to us and wandered inside the schoolhouse.
"Oh, hi! I-I'm Noel. Nice to meet you!"
"I'm Neon. Nice to meet you too, Noel!" The two girls shook hands.
"Hi, Noel. Oh, hello. What's your name?"
"I'm Neon. Are you Colin?" The timid boy nodded. "Who are those two over there?"
"That's Tatsumi and his little brother Yaichi. They're super nice. Tatsumi's friend over there is Sumomo. She looks Yaichi's age, but she's actually in Tatsumi's age group. You'll be with me and Noel." Colin smiled at Neon, and they began their class.
"Class one – Please make your way over to where Kasumi is. Class two – Please go to classroom three and meet your teacher there." Neon knew that she was class one, and followed her new friends over to Kasumi.
"So, I'll take attendance." Kasumi stared at her book. "Yaichi? Good. Noel? Good. Colin? Good. Tigre? Good. Schalk? Good. Alma? Good. Neon?"
"Here!"
"Ah, you're the new girl, correct? I'm glad to have you in my class."
The day went on, and Morgan arrived at the schoolhouse to pick up Neon.
"Heya, you beautiful girl. How'd your first day go? Tell me everything, I wanna hear it all." Neon chattered endlessly about the day's antics, and Morgan listened carefully.
"Okay, so they wheeled in this MASSIVE chalkboard... Oh, and I got told I was a good girl for eating all my veggies. Oh, and there was also..."
Their discussion continued until they arrived home at the farmhouse.
"Ah, the troublesome two are home! Ford's still at work, but he'll be home soon. How did it go?" Paru enquired.
"Go on, Neon. Tell your Papa everything you told me." Morgan prompted Neon's conversation, and Paru listened with the same intrigued expression as Morgan. When everyone was home and comfy, we all collaborated to cook our dinner.
