Another ordinary day

She took to the wind outside. It whispered and moaned. To some extent it sounded like waves clashing and crashing contrary each other.

"Today is going to be a cold day", she deems to herself. Cold, her hands are freezing. She glances down at the phone screen, naught. No messages or any missed call notification. She puts the phone back on the night stand and snucks back into the covers.

She hugs her the pillow and cuddles up into a ball. Unconsciously her mind wanders off to Him. Thoughts of Him invade her mind and everything about follows suit.

The smell of his cologne, his dopey-sided smile, the lone mole at the nape of his neck, the thirdly pierced hole on his left ear, every little thing about him takes the reigns off of her sanity and takes the driver's seat. The hollowness that follows suit- after the memories- is always the worst.

It has been 2 months since they had last broken their relationship off and yet it feels like it has just been two minutes ago where he'd kissed her and held her in his arms.

She reminisces the warmth and the love that always seeped through from every hug. The butterflies that never failed to ripple through her stomach when they kissed and all the moments savoured and cherished.

Puffy eyed and a good cry later, she emerges from underneath her temporarily-fortress and places her hand onto her chest. It still hurts. Her heart still feels like it's been pierced thorough and through a thousand times.

She sits up and faces the mirror that is opposite her bed.

She follows the trail of yesterday's smudged eyeliner on her tear-tainted checks and rubs. Her eyes are puffy and red. My goodness, her hair! Having escaped the hold of the ribbon and bun she has attempted. It resembles a forest, wild, untamed and in every direction, rampant.

A small smile breaks across her face at the sight in front of her. The smile blossoms into a full blown grin, her crown.

She deservingly wears it and plans to flaunts it like she has, not even a single problem, in the world. And while her heart heals, she will bear it all like the Queen she is.
