Lyrics from Time To Be Awesome
Happy birthday, chocolatefrog-
🎉 ~  🎁 ~ 🎉

"I'm going to miss my own party all because you-" Mango prodded Jade in the shoulder with a scowl. "-Refuse to drive over thirty-five miles!"

"Hey! Go faster, ya get a disaster, that's my motto." Jade remained stubbornly slow. Her hands gripped the green steering wheel so hard Mango was worried it might break. They rolled unsteadily over a rock, causing the whole vehicle to rock back and forth. Sage yelped from where she was clinging to the back of Jade's seat.

"This is why I didn't want to take the car!" Sage huffed, picking at one of the stickers covering the bright pink plastic.

"Those are from my limited edition Barbie collection, Sage, you better not rip them!" Jade threatened, glaring at her through the review mirror. It was a little hard since the reflective sticker was peeling.

Mango slumped in the chair or at least tried to. There was limited leg space in a car meant for six-year-olds. "What do you think they're doing? Making my cake? Decorating the house? Wrapping my presents?" Mango nudged Jade with her elbow, wiggling her eyebrows.

Jade laughed. "Ha! Nice try! I'm not telling you any of your gifts. You'll have to wait and see."

Mango stretched her eyes wide and pouted. "You can't give me a hint? Pweeeeaasssse?"

Jade shook her head. "Nope." She popped the 'p'.

Mango turned around to look at Sage. Sage leaned forward with a raised eyebrow. "It depends. What are you willing to give for this information?"

"NO SPOILERS!" Jade swatted them both lightly over the head.

Mango rolled her eyes but twisted back to face the front. "Alrightttttttt." She grumbled.

Jade glanced back at Sage. "Can you check in with the others to see how everything's going?"

Sage nodded and took out her phone, swiftly calling Lucky. It took a few rings but at last, she picked up. The girl on the other end sounded out of breath, loud shouting filled the background as she tried to talk over the noise.

"Sage!" Lucky said like the shattering of glass was perfectly normal. "Hi!"

"What's going on?" Sage ducked down in an attempt to make it harder for Mango to hear their conversation. Jade used her free hand to shove Mango's beanie over her face.

"I can still hear things you know," Mango said, her voice muffled.

"Plug your ears then," Sage ordered then turned back to Lucky.

"Uh..." The small moment she hesitated had Sage worried. "Everything is coooolllll." She drew the word out nice and long. "We are just having a small problem with the giant portrait..."

Sage's brow furrowed. "Giant portrait?"

"Yeah! Ruby and Cho wanted to finger paint a giant portrait for Mango."

"Why is that causing problems?" Sage asked in confusion.

"Well... it's a little aesthetically challenged." Lucky said the last two words in a hushed voice.
