I wake up with the moon shinning through the crack in the curtain, I look around the room as I sit up to see clothes thrown everywhere. The duffle bag laid on its side as clothes spill out of it, I sit up slowly as I see Mateo's head resting on my stomach.
I lean back on my elbows as his arm wraps around my waist tighten enough for me to stay in place but not tight enough for it to cause me any pain. I look around the room to see Mats phone and a gun placed at the side of the bed.
I run my hands gently through his hair as I watch him sleep peacefully, his body clocks my lower half as his weight is on my legs. He is actually not laid beside me he is laid in-between my legs, his head places on my stomach and his body between my legs.
"Mat." I whisper and he hums in response, not quite awake but conscious. "I need to pee." I explain and he chuckles rolling over my leg onto his side of the bed. He grabs his phone checking the time then lets out a sigh.
"It's four in the morning, go back to sleep." he buries his face into his pillow as I climb from the bed, I pad through the room and into the bathroom. I quickly finish my business then wash my hands making my way back into the bedroom where I find Mateo who has fallen back asleep, this time hugging my pillow and laid across both sides of our bed.
"I love you." I kiss his head gently before making my way through the room, I grab his shirt on the way and slip out the bedroom into the hallway. I run down the stairs making my way into the kitchen where I am shocked to find Enzo.
"Oh hello." I whisper and he looks up from his bowl of cereal. I smile walking around the counter and grab the cookie jar carrying it to the island as I slide onto the stool.
"How you feeling." I ask him and he shrugs his shoulders. "Ill speak to her. she deserves to know how you feel regardless coming from you or me she needs to know." I pop the lid off the jar off and place it on the counter beside the jar.
"cookie?" I ask and he shakes his head.
"How did you do it?" he asks and I frown taking a bite of my cookie, crumbs fall form my moth onto the counter as I look at him, confusion laced across my face.
"How did you let him know that he was enough. That you didn't need anything other than his love?" he asks me and I smile.
"I have no idea, I am lucky everyday to wake up to such an incredibly man. I wasn't going to let him go easily." I explain and he smiles looking at me.
"You really didn't deserve what happened to you Gia. You are simply far to pure for this world, I just know he will never be prepared to let you go." Enzo says, disappointment in his words as he looks at me.
"I had to let her go." he explains.
"Sometime you do. Sometimes holding onto something too tight will want them to let go. But setting them free might actually be the key to getting them to stay." I explains and he frowns looking at me. "She is getting a glimpse of what life is like without you in it. She will come to her senses and call you and if she doesn't. She simply is an idiot who never deserved you." I explains finishing my cookie as I grab another one.
