6 Months After:
"Please can give me 20 dollars to buy some food?" I begged to a lady. She just give me a nasty look and said "Go beg the government"
I am homeless and 6 months pregnant. No one is here to help me not even my family. They abandoned me just like my friends. Sometimes I don't know where to go at night. But I'll not give up, I know that God will prepare a place.
I looked down at my stomach and rest my hands on it. "Good morning, baby girl" I felt a small kick in response, so I smiled.
She was the reason for my smile. She was the only thing in my life that was worth living for. I've been going to a free clinic and the nurses were sweet. They took care of me and the baby. They know that I'm homeless, but didn't mention it.
I took up the old duffle bag and entered the restroom. I looked in the mirror at myself. My dark hair was a mess, my eyes were baggy, and the clothes I am wearing were old and stink.
I sighed. God I can't keep on living like this.
I wet my rag and filled my water bottle with water then entered one of the stalls and do my routine. I got dressed and went to a coffé/clothes shop down the road. The coffé shop looms expensive. 10 dollars was in my pocket.
"Can I buy a cupcake?" I asked the cashier lady. She looks very friendly with her brown hair and blue eyes.
"I'm sorry, but the money is not enough" She smiled sadly.
"Oh ok" I gave her a small smile and began to walk out.
"WAIT!" She shouted.
"You can have whatever you want. I can pay it back" She points to the coffe and food.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure. Take what you want"
I took up enough to satisfy my hungryness. Thank you Jesus!
"Thank you so much for your kindness!" I said, overjoyed.
"I'm glad to help you and do you need any thing else?" She asked.
I looked on down. "P-Perhaps some clothes"
"Great! You pick out whatever and just tell me when you're finished"
"Are you serious?" I asked.
"Yes! Now go" She pushed me and smiled.
I pick out what I want and went to tell her. "These are what I pick"
She took the clothes and put it in a bag. "Whenever you want something you can come here"
"This is a miracle! Oh my gosh, Thank you!"
"No problem! Did you pick out clothes for the baby?" She points to my belly.
"Yes, I did"
"Is it a boy or a girl? When are you going to deliver?"
I chuckled. "It's a girl and 3 months from now"
"I bet she's going to be pretty like you! When you start having labour pain or contractions, don't hesitate to call me. I will gladly help you" She write down her number on a paper and hand it to me.
I have a old-barely couldn't even type numbers- banger phone.
"I will" I said.
She looks like she about to say something but she stuttered. "Are y-you homeless? I don't want you to-"
"I am"
"I will give you this" She reached in her pocket and give me money. "This will help you and the baby"
Tears started to formed in my eyes. "Y-You don't how much this means to me. Thank you so much!"
She smiled. "It's the best way I can help"
"Thank you" I waved to her and began to walked out.
"Please be safe! And God bless you!" She said.
"I will! God bless you too! " I smiled.
