Chapter 11

"Help me" Maureen's Husband said, struggling with the shopping bags.

Keiona got up quickly.

"So you are Monique?" He asked.

"Yes, I am" I said.

"It's an honour to meet you" He shaked my hand.

"Likewise"

"Forgive me if I intrude but how did you become pregant?"

"Um..." I let out a sigh. "My ex drugged my drink and raped me. When I found out I was pregnant, he didn't want the baby. I told my father that I was raped and he kicked me out. So that's basically the story and I use to live on the street before Maureen took me in"

"I'm so sorry but I'm glad nothing happen to you while you on the street"

"Well, some gun men told me that I should not sleep in the park at night. I was terrified but they didn't do any thing to me"

He sighed. "Your here and that's all that matters"

"Mo'nique! Why didn't you tell me sooner?!" Kieona asked.

"You didn't asked. Pride was getting the best of you, remember?" I said in a bored tone.

She rolled her eyes. "Your safe now with me"

"Thank you" I smiled.

"I'm going to bed now. See you guys later. Oh!- Keiona make sure to give your mother the biscuits in the bag. She's been bugging me about it"

"Okay, Pa" She laughed. "I love you"

"I love you too and don't stay up too late" He points to both of us.

"I won't" We said at the same time.

"So..."

"What's up?"

"I want to give my life to Christ" Keiona said.

"Really?" I said with amusement.

"Yes"

"What made you decide?"

"I want to experience that happy feeling that you've been feeling. These temporary things that I've been going after, don't satisfied me but Jesus surely can. He died for me and the only the thing I can do is submit to Him"

I smiled and hugged her. "Girl, I'm happy for you!"

"Your hair smell nice" She said.

"Thank you dear" I said with enthusiasm. "Anddd when your gonna get baptized?" I asked.

"When my fam goes to church. I'll tell them after this"

I squealed. "I'm happy for you, bighead!"

"Did you really just called me bighead?" She asked with her brow raised.

"I'm joking! And you know I'm joking"

She smiled. "In a long time, I feel this happiness everytime when I'm around you and God. I don't wanna to lose you, Monique. You the real friend in years that I've ever really trusted. I love you so much"

"I'm never gonna leave you. Okay? Stop thinking those thoughts. I love you too but please don't ever think I will leave you" I said with tears in my eyes.

She started to teared up and hugged me. "Your amazing"

"I saw you guys making friendship now, eh?" A voice said.

I turned around and saw Maureen.

"Yeah, we have a lot in common surprisingly" Keiona said.

"I'm glad!!!! But where is my biscuits?" She asked, looking around.

"It's in the cupboard" I point.

"I'm going to bed. Bye luvs" Maureen wiggled it happily.

"I'm tired too. Need to get some sleep for her" I rubbed my belly. "Bye Keiona!" I waved. She did likewise and walked in her room.
