Twila's POV

"Hey, Twila!" I turned my head on a side to look at Evander. He was running towards my direction with a bouquet of flowers on his hands.

"Hey." I replied. He then gave me the flowers which I accepted wholeheartedly. Evander, he's a professional athlete, a swimmer to be exact. He's my persistent suitor. He promised that he'll wait until I'll be able to commit a relationship.

First of all, I always wanted to be a professional surfer. I'm under constant training nowadays and therefore, I can't have much time if I'll enter a certain relationship. He's been with me since we were young. Actually, he's a childhood friend of mine. We both grew up on a same village, having the same dream.

We were always connected most of the time. He's actually my comfort person, but being in love or in a relationship is another matter. I'm afraid that what if it'll be the reason for our friendship to be ruined. Just overthinking, tch.

"Thank you." I muttered while smiling at him. The both of us decided to hang out over the seaside. It's less crowded and besides, the both of us are close to the ocean.

I sat on the sand underneath the shade of a coconut tree. Bringing my bag beside me as well as the bouquet of flowers. Glancing at Evander, he's staring at the sea with his hands crossed. It's just eleven in the morning and I also brought my surfing board with me.

"Let's go?" I asked cheerfully before standing up and removing my shirt, leaving me with only a sports bra on. I'm wearing a pair of shorts and it's fine for casual surfing.

My surfing board on my side as I enthusiastically run towards the shallow water. As usual, there are just few people around.

Evander look at me before nodding his head. He looks suspicious, but I chose to shrug it off. Maybe he's just nervous since he'll be having a swimming competition the next day.

He remove his shirt and pants, leaving him with his trunks. It's not new to me of course.

For how many years, I already know him so much. He may look nice and kind, but trust me he's not. At some point, Evander is also affectionate and caring. He'll do everything to reach a certain goal, he's very determined and optimistic.

"Oi! Aren't you coming?" I ask while looking behind. He was standing there and again, staring at the sea. I guess he didn't hear me, so I run back to him and flick his forehead.

He blinked multiple times, diverting his gazes at me. He look so different and suspicious.

"Are you okay?" I ask out of curiosity. He tried smiling, before ruffling my hair.

"Come on now." He pulled me by the other hand as we both run towards the sea. Although, he's acting weird, I tried shrugging it off. It's time to have fun. Besides after this day, the both of us will proceed to training. We will have little time to hang out and be with each other.
