Chongyun-Hot and Bothered

AN: Listen to the music while reading! 

As I near the end of the performance with my sister Xinyan on her handmade lyre and me on percussion, a man with icy blue hair climbs on stage and starts rocking out next to Xinyan. He's kind of cute. 

I focus my attention back on playing the drums while I laugh at Xinyan next to her friend. We always have loads of fun on stage performing. 

I'm packing up the drum set by the end of our performance when Xinyan walks over with her icy blue-haired friend. He holds a popsicle in his hands while he cools down. 

"Hey, Lil sis! Nice performance tonight!" I smile and give her a hug and she rubs my head.

 "You too, you totally rocked tonight!" 

She places her hand on her hip and gives me a thumbs-up, "This is my good friend Chongyun, he's a close friend." 

I smile at him and extend my hand which he shakes, "It's nice to finally meet you. Xinyan has told me all about you." 

"I hope it's all good things." He laughs good-naturedly and rakes his hand through his hair. 

"Of course, she definitely didn't exaggerate when she told me how good you were on the drums." 

I blush a little and look away for a moment, "Ah, she told you that? Thanks, it just takes lots of practice and good rhythm! And you, my friend seem to have rhythm. Your dance looked fun." 

He blushes and looks down at his popsicle, "Ah, that was nothing, I was just having a bit of fun. Your sisters' songs are just so fun, I can't help but dance to the beat." 

Xinyan laughs and slaps his back, "Aww, shucks, I didn't realize how much you liked my songs, I'll have to come to the Wangshu Inn more often to play for you." She smiles and yawns. 

"Well, I'm gonna hit the hay but have fun you two." She finishes packing up her guitar and makes her way inside the Inn. 

"I still have to finish putting this drum set away so you don't have to stay."

He shakes his head, "No. I'll stay, I can protect you from the evil spirits...and I can help you finish packing this away. It's faster with 2." 

I smile at him and motion at my drums, "Well thanks for the help. I really appreciate it." 

After a few minutes, we're finished packing and the sun has gone down. I suddenly hear his stomach growl and I giggle which is followed by my stomach growling. I blush embarrassed and he rubs the back of his neck. 

"Guess we should grab some food before we go home?" He laughs, "Yeah, sure is tiring dancing on stage." 

He gathers his belongings and carries the drum set while I grab my jacket. "Ah, you don't have to carry that- I can take care of it." 

He shakes his head and holds up the set. "No, I got it. I'm capable don't worry." He smiles and we walk side by side to the Wanmin restaurant." 

After picking up the food I invite him to Mt.Aozang to look over the water and the mountains. We sit down at the table near the Adeptus abode and we start eating in companionable silence. 

I set a few lanterns to light up our table. 

"So, you're Xinyan's younger sister?" I nod gulping down the food in my mouth. 

"Yeah, Xinyan is always traveling from performance to performance but I don't always join every performance." 

"Hmm, why not?" 

"Ah, it's not my dream to make music. I'd like to tell my stories through art and send a message to other people that they will be okay." I close my eyes and feel the breeze. "Life is not always easy, it won't ever be easy but if I could bring someone temporary contentment...I think my life is meaningful." 

He smiles and softly rests his hand on top of mine. "That's a beautiful thing to want. I admire you. I know you will be able to do it. I believe in you." 

I blush slightly and smile, squeezing his hand. "Thank you. I hope so." 

He blushes and holds my gaze, "Thank you for this. This helps me to balance my yin and yan energy. I don't know how you do it. But you help balance my energy." I smile at him and he softly squeezes my hands, "Let's be friends." 

"I'd like that."
