" Inom pa tayo! " Lea told Aga, holding out a glass of tequila
He would be fine with this any time, in fact, he was already used to the thought of his bestfriend as a regular drinker, except tonight.
Lea already had three bottles of tequila, that's like, 25 glasses already, and here she is, begging for more.
He tied his hands on her wrists. " Lea, magtino ka nga. Amin na yan, you're drunk. "
She looked up at him with swollen eyes. She had been crying all day because of her one hell of a jerk ex-boyfriend, who's now somewhere in California.
" Ano bang mali sakin, ha? Am I not pretty? " she asked, obviously out of her senses.
He shook his head and lifted up her chin. " You are one of the prettiest girls I know. And trust me, I know a lot of girls. " he joked, trying to ease up the conversation
But Lea, being the Lea he knew, wasn't that easy to be diverted.
" Am I fat then? Or am I too small? Is my nose too little? Are my eyebrows not aligned? Are my eyes bulging? Tell me Aga, what the fuck's wrong with me that caused him to break up with me?! "
" Look at me. " he said, staring at her. " You, Maria Lea Carmen Imutan Salonga could probably be the most good-looking, nicest dressed, lovable, and most pure hearted lady I've ever known. Rob was just stressed, he'll come back to you. You'll see. "
" And if he doesn't? "
He gulped before saying the words that he has been wanting to tell her. " Then maybe, you're not meant to be. Maybe, you're meant for someone else. "
" Oh, if you only knew... "
" But I love him so much. " she said, choking up on her own tears " I loved him for three years. I still love him. "
He could not do anything but hug her. And at this exact time, there is only one thing on his mind.
" That should be me. "

" H-hindi mo na ba ko mahal? " Lea asked Rob
" No. It's just that... Lea, I-I'm not sure about this. " he answered, removing her hand from his arm " Lea, I need space. "
" A-are you breaking up with me? " she asked, her voice cracking
Rob nodded and then turned around, and then... he was gone.
" Aaaack! " she screamed, waking up from the dream she had. She looked around, and as she realized she was in her room, breathed a sigh of relief.
The door opened, and Aga hurriedly ran to her, checking if she was okay. Wait... Aga? What is he doing in her house?
Her mouth formed an 'O' as she imagined the things that happened last night.
Aga looked at her, and as if reading her thoughts, answered her.
" I did not take off your clothes or anything. Hindi ko ugaling makipag-sex sa may boyfriend. " he said, smirking, which earned him a pillow slap " Araaay! Sadista! "
She smiled satisfyingly at him. " Mabuti naman. Akala ko naakit ka na naman sakin Muhlach eh. Like you did with Sandy. "
He 'tsked' at her. " Lakas ng loob mo. May I remind you, that was a movie, and we were playing our characters. "
" And you kissed me. " she teased " Which wasn't on the script. "
" That was part of my internalization. "
She smirked. " Yeah. Tell that to my ass. Internalization? Too much realistic internalization, Muhlach. " she said, standing up and walking over to her bedroom door
She was about to open the door when he pulled her into a tight hug.
" Why? " she asked, lost for words
He pushed himself onto her neck and whispered.
" I'm always here for you. Please be okay, for me. I can't stand seeing you this sad. "
And she could not do anything but cry.

-After two months-
" What's this? "
He smiled. " Flowers? "
She chuckled. " Flowers? Awww. They're beautiful, thank you. " she said as she reached for his cheek and left a dangling kiss there
Aga smiled as Lea paraded in front of him. She was wearing his favorite dress and her face was not made up. She was just incredibly beautiful.
" Ready? " he asked her
She nodded excitedly.
" Where are we going ba? " she asked as she hopped inside his car
" Just wait and see. "
This was the night. The night where he tells Lea his feelings for her. He has prepared a special candle lit dinner for the two of them.
He glanced at Lea, who seemed to be smiling her widest. She told him that she has been looking forward to this date too, because she has something to tell him too.
They arrived in the restaurant a few minutes later. He held out his hand for Lea to hold onto. She smiled at him and reached for his hand, tying it with hers.
They walked inside the restaurant, holding hands. There were a couple of familiar faces, whom they said hello to, before going to the garden to enjoy their dinner.
" Sir, Ma'am, this way po... " the waiter said as he guided them
He pulled out a chair for her. She smiled and sat in it. She did not remove her gaze on him till he was sitted.
" So.... "
" There's something you want to tell me? " she asked, her eyes twinkling
He smiled nervously. " Ummm... Ano, ikaw na lang muna? Ladies, first? "
" Huh? Sure ka? " she asked him
He nodded. " Yes. Makakapag-antay naman yung sasabihin ko eh. "
Lea breathed deeply and began talking.
" For the past two months, you have been always there for me. Kahit di ko sabihin, kahit busy ka, kahit madalas pagod ka sa trabaho, sa bahay ko ang deretso mo. You took care of me in my most vulnerable state. Sobrang swerte ko na nakilala kita, na naging kaibigan, at na naging bestfriend kita. I'm so lucky to have you. Sobrang swerte ko dahil nasa harap ko ang lalaking pinapangarap ng napakaraming babae. And so Aga, I want you to know that... " she paused dramatically and raised her hands before saying " Rob asked me to marry him! "
Did somebody said anything? The loud crashing of his heart is making him deaf.
He's broken.
Maybe, just maybe, this is what's really meant to be.
